I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner who works from the belief that people are not broken—and that many of the struggles we call “mental illness” make sense when we look at trauma, context, and lived experience. I’m especially attuned to the ways mental health systems, stigma, and labels can unintentionally cause harm, and I aim to practice in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and deeply human.

My approach is unconventional and trauma-informed, influenced by perspectives like those of Gabor Maté, which emphasize compassion, curiosity, and understanding symptoms as meaningful responses rather than defects. I do not believe in rushing to pathologize the human experience. As Joni Mitchell once reflected about depression, sometimes what we’re feeling is not an illness to be fixed, but a signal—an honest response to pain, loss, or a world that has not been kind.

I have degrees from the US Air Force Academy, University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Hi, I’m Tracy, I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 22 years of experience in nursing and mental health care. I provide compassionate, individualized treatment for children, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, life transitions and other mental health illnesses. I have a passion for supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, panic attacks and social isolation.

I take a holistic, patient centered approach to care, which means I look beyond just the symptoms. I consider the whole person, mind, body, and spirit because I believe true healing comes from addressing every part of who we are. That might include medication, lifestyle changes, therapy support, or simply having a safe space to talk and be heard. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan here; together, we’ll find what works best for you.

I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Jacksonville University and completed a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatry at St. Thomas University. I’m currently working toward my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at St. Thomas University, which allows me to stay up to date with the latest research and continue improving how I serve my clients.

Over the years, I’ve worked in inpatient hospitals, outpatient settings, and telehealth environments, giving me a broad understanding of how mental health shows up in different stages and spaces of life.
