Hi! I am a board certified DNP-PMHNP-BC. I started my career in traditional health practices as a Fulbright Scholar in Sochi, Russia. I presented my research at the US Embassy in Moscow. Following the completion of my grant I attended New York University (NYU). From there I completed a residency at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Following this I entered and completed my doctorate at USD University of San Diego, California with a focus on digital telehealth treatment for psychiatric care. I have a passion for working with the veteran population and those seeking care outside the box. Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Psychiatrist in Orange, CA
Finding the right psychiatrist in Orange starts with knowing what type of care you want to access. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication as part of ongoing care. Therapists do not prescribe, though they can provide talk therapy and support for concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and OCD. Both can be valid places to start, depending on whether you want therapy, medication management, or both.
Orange is a smaller city within a larger Orange County mental health care market, so nearby in-person psychiatry options may vary by schedule and location. Virtual appointments can expand your choices while still letting you see a licensed psychiatrist in California. Psychiatric appointments for medication management are usually shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions. Some psychiatrists also offer therapy, and some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. As you compare profiles, look at appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and how they describe their communication style.
Psychiatric care in Orange can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists in Orange who are accepting new patients, review detailed bios, check your insurance, and see estimated costs before booking, making it easier to find someone who matches your needs, accepts your plan, and is ready to see you.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
