My path has included military service, community health work in rural Morocco, and care across many settings, from intensive care to hospice. I’m Linh Tran, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 10 years in healthcare and 5 years in advanced practice. I hold both a Master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Columbia University. My work focuses on anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. I’m especially passionate about supporting adolescents, adults, and those navigating the immigrant or bicultural experience.

I have been a Nurse Practitioner in an Emergency Department for over ten years. Due to the pandemic, our emergency room has been impacted by psychiatric patients, and I realized that there is a need for nurse practitioners like me to truly help others. Some patients wait hours or overnight in our emergency department to be evaluated. I want to bridge the gap and make a difference by providing care here in Headway.

I’m Virginia Rubio, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent more than a decade as a registered nurse, and those years shaped the kind of provider I am today. I worked on telemetry and medical-surgical units at a community hospital, cared for patients at a state psychiatric hospital, and provided care in correctional and juvenile health settings. I often met people at some of the hardest moments of their lives, many of whom had been dismissed or overlooked before. Sitting with them taught me something I carry into every visit: being truly listened to is part of healing.

Today I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and trauma and PTSD. I’m especially drawn to women’s mental health, including perinatal concerns, hormonal and life transitions, and the quiet pressures so many women carry without ever putting a name to them. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, and I see patients throughout California by secure video.

Outside of work, I recharge with my family, time outdoors, staying active, and a mindfulness practice I’ve kept up for years. These aren’t separate from my work. They’re a big part of why I believe our daily habits and our emotional health are so closely connected, and why I bring both into the care I provide.
