I am licensed in both mental health and substance use treatment in the state of Wisconsin, and have spent over 20 years working with a wide range of people and concerns in many different settings. I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and my goal is to offer a grounded, respectful space where you feel heard, accepted, and supported at your own pace.
You might be carrying something that feels too heavy to put into words, like a past that keeps surfacing, anxiety that will not quiet, or a relationship with substances you are finally ready to rethink. Whatever brought you here, you do not need to have it all figured out to start. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors across Wisconsin facing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance use, and I am committed to seeing you as more than your hardest chapter.
I graduated with my MSW from Aurora University in 2017, and I’ve continued to deepen my clinical training ever since. I’m trained in a variety of evidence‐based therapeutic approaches—including Gottman, EMDR, ACT, Motivational interviewing, and harm reduction—which allows me to tailor therapy to each person’s needs and goals.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, collaborative style. I value getting to know who you are, understanding what matters most to you, and creating a space where you can explore challenges without judgment. My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and the belief that people grow best when they feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood.
If you're navigating a life transition, or dealing with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, or depression, I'd love to work with you. I'm currently accepting older teens and adults for telehealth appointments, and I bring a wide range of evidence-based tools to our work together.
A little about my background: I served in the US Army before earning my Bachelor's and Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since then, I've worked in psychiatric hospitals, residential care, and outpatient settings. I take my work seriously, but also try to keep things light-hearted when necessary. I'm pretty laid back, and I think that comes through pretty quickly once we start talking. I have also learned to cope and coexist ADHD, have experienced major depressive episodes, and overcome struggles with OCD.
If you're looking for a therapist who is down to earth, easy to talk to, and genuinely in your corner, I'd love to work with you. After 11 years in the mental health field, I'm back in private practice, and I see teens, adults, and seniors across Colorado and Wisconsin by telehealth. People come to me carrying anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, anger, stress that will not switch off, family and relationship strain, substance use, and the weight of a chronic health condition. Our time together will always be shaped around you and what you need.
Do you want to take ownership over your life and regain your power? Are you ready to learn how to be vulnerable and find your inner strength? As a clinician, I believe it is important to meet clients where they are in their lives and assist individuals who have a vision of where they see themselves going. I want to be your copilot as you construct a new path for your life. If anger, anxiety, fear, your past, or depression are weighing you down, I want to help you carry your weight.
I am a nurturer by habit, and I listen closely to each person’s unique story. Together, we can make sense of what you have experienced and identify satisfying solutions, so you feel heard, held, and more confident moving forward. Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Appleton
Searching for therapists in Appleton starts with finding someone whose experience matches what you want support with. People look for therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, and work stress. As you compare therapists, look for listed specialties, therapy styles, and populations they work with. A bio that mentions approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or acceptance and commitment therapy can help you understand how a therapist may structure sessions.
In a smaller city like Appleton, local in-person openings may be more limited than in larger Wisconsin markets. Virtual therapy can expand your options while still letting you work with a therapist licensed in Wisconsin. As you narrow your search, compare appointment times, whether a therapist is accepting new clients, session format, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading profiles before booking can also help you learn how a therapist communicates, what they focus on, and what a first session may involve.
Therapy in Appleton can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before you book. Headway helps you search for Appleton counseling options by insurance, availability, specialty, and virtual or in-person format. You can review therapist bios, see estimated out-of-pocket costs after entering your insurance details, and book directly when you find a therapist in Appleton, WI who fits your needs.
