I'm an LCSW practicing in Indiana, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Alabama, Virginia, and Illinois. I specialize prenatal, childhood, and adolescent trauma, OCD, eating disorders, and ARFID. Over nine years ago my life changed. I lost a son to suicide due to unaddressed mental health needs. A system that was overwhelmed failed him. I returned to school to help close that gap and want to work with others to start their journey towards mental wellness. As someone who has experienced depression and anxiety, I understand the challenges faced.

I have a PhD in Psychology, and completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology. I have expanded my practice to include work in other areas such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic and complex -post traumatic stress disorder. I have also worked extensively with children and adults with various physical/medical and developmental disorders.

Jacki Veler, MSN, PMHNP, FNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 16 years of nursing experience. She earned her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Spring Arbor University in 2021 and her PMHNP Graduate Certificate from the University of Toledo in 2022. At NewHeart Mental Health and Wellness in Oak Harbor, Ohio, she delivers in person and remote outpatient psychiatry and addiction treatment for adults and children across the entire lifespan. She also provides inpatient psychiatric care at a behavioral health hospital.

I earned a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati after working in Children's Protective Services and Juvenile Court facilities. I have years of experience helping children, youth and families connect and function in more healthy ways. I see adults and couples as well, and strive to facilitate healing of hearts and marriages.

I have personal and professional experience in foster parenting and adoption. One of my special areas of interest is the effects of nutrition and exercise on mental health. I have utilized Equine-assisted Psychotherapy for twenty years as a specialty.
