Hi, I’m Rachel — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about supporting people as they navigate life’s complexities and transitions. My work centers on helping individuals explore identity, heal from trauma, and build more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, pregnant and postpartum people, and those from culturally diverse and immigrant backgrounds. Together, we can unpack the ways family dynamics, culture, and personal history shape your story — and create space for new, empowering narratives to emerge.
Hi, my name is Debbi Huntoon. I received a Master of Social Work degree from UNC- Chapel Hill. I am licensed by the states of North Carolina and Virginia as a clinical social worker. During graduate school internships I learned that my ability to help others depended on my willingness to help (change) myself. In the last 37 years I have engaged in my own treatment and have successfully served many clients in a variety of settings: all levels of education settings, inpatient and outpatient services for adult and pediatric patients, hospice, patients experiencing dementia and their families, and the state court system. We are all trying to cope with painful memories and experiences so that we can work, pay our bills, and care for our families.
Life can leave us carrying experiences that feel too heavy to hold alone. Whether you’re facing the impact of trauma, struggling in relationships, navigating grief and loss, managing anger, or working through challenges related to substance use, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin again. The healing is not a "one-size-fits-all" process; my goal is to utilize an evidence-based intervention that you feel really "clicks" with how you view life and approach problem-solving. Common interventions I utilize include: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-focused Brief Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I hold an MSW from Boston University and have been in practice for 30 years. I have trained in CBT, Gestalt, Humanistic, Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered Therapy.
Are you tired of being a prisoner to your own negative thoughts, trying everything to ease your sadness and frustration, but feel like you are going in circles? Maybe you've tried self-help books, talking to friends, staying busy, but to no avail. Have you gone through something recently or in the past, which was traumatic and painful, where you feel like keeping to yourself is safest, and doing whatever you can to not get hurt again? Whether you have depression or anxiety, stemming from traumatic experiences or chronic illness, imagine being able to gain strength to gently put these experiences into perspective, and move on about your day.
Let me provide you with healing techniques and tools which I have utilized with many clients. Free yourself from the past and finally find "you" again. OR, let me help you find the new YOU.
