Hello, my name is Amanda Yurko and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Therapy should feel like a conversation where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved. You’re the expert on your life. I’m here to walk alongside you. With more than a decade of experience, I bring a warm, creative, and open-minded approach to helping you navigate what’s next.I work with teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, grief, and other mental health challenges.
When I’m away from my practice, I'm a wife, mom, and someone who believes that the little things in life matter. I love time outdoors, hiking, being near the beach, and listening to rock music.
You'll also find me cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and the Vegas Golden Knights. Balancing family life with my practice keeps me grounded, energized, and deeply connected to the importance of work-life balance.
I share this because therapy is ultimately about connection. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself while receiving professional, compassionate care.
I’m a Board-Certified Clinical Social Worker with Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from The New School and Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. I work with adults across the lifespan and from a wide range of backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ clients and older adults. I frequently help people with anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, grief, self-esteem, caregiving, health changes, loneliness, retirement, and major life transitions. My training includes CBT, EMDR, DBT, ACT, CPT, mindfulness, and other evidence-based and integrative approaches.
Kianna Akazawa was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and has been practicing social work for the last five years. Kianna has had diverse experiences, working with elderly, palliative care, inpatient psychiatric services, talk therapy, and school-based social work. Kianna tailors her therapeutic approach to each client & meets them where they're at.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to make a change even if they aren’t sure how. I work with many clients who struggle with all types of trauma, mood disorders, neurodivergence and often a combination of these traits. I often work with my clients to help them set attainable goals and break down complex situations piece by piece. I also strive to make a safe space for LGBTQ+ and encourage expressions of all gender identities and sexualities. Vulnerability is key to healing and I welcome anyone who is ready to begin and honest conversation about their goals.
I often help those working through partner betrayal, relational trauma, or severe mood and anxiety symptoms. Clients benefit from my psychodynamic approach which has been shown to be especially helpful for managing complex trauma and improving negative relationship patterns. I have extensive training diagnosing personality disorders, in addition to helping persons with severe depression, panic attacks, nonsuicidal self-injury, and OCD. Clients tell me they appreciate my calm, regulating presence as well as my nonjudgemental stance.
