We all need connection, community, and the ability to be our authentic selves in order to thrive. Many of us are not provided these attachment needs in childhood, and we grow into adulthood burdened by this wounding, unsure of how to relate safely and from a place of wholeness. If you struggle to align your inner and outer worlds, find yourself repeating difficult relational patterns, or feel as if your authentic self must remain hidden, I would love to work with you. I am particularly interested in supporting the health of queer families and cooperatives.

I grew up in MA. I earned a 2nd-degree black belt from Premier Martial Arts. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UML. I worked at a group home for teenagers, then one for adult men with schizophrenia. I worked as a support and then a lead teacher at a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. There, I learned a lot about Behaviorism and ABA. I was then able to work as a clinician as I finished my graduate degree.
I earned my graduate degree at Fitchburg State University. I did my internship at the Community Health Center in Fitchburg. I worked in community mental health before venturing out on my own.
I specialize in EMDR for complex trauma and solution-focused short-term therapy. I am willing to share personal and HIPAA-compliant info if it is relevant to your recovery. I chose this specialty because it has worked for me! Let me show you how you can take back control of your mental health.
I specialize in helping couples and adults navigate relationship challenges, cultural differences, and major life transitions. My work is especially focused on couples who feel disconnected, stuck in recurring conflict, or unsure how to rebuild trust and emotional closeness. As a Level 3 Gottman Method-trained therapist, I help partners understand their patterns, communicate more effectively, and create a stronger relationship. I also support individuals balancing career, family, cultural adjustment, and the demands of a new chapter.
My name is Wendy Hagen, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
I believe therapy should feel both comfortable and useful in your everyday life. We’ll talk about what’s happening, but we’ll also work on practical skills you can use between sessions. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, knowing you’ll be met with compassion, honesty, and without judgment.
There may be difficult conversations, moments when something finally clicks, and probably some humor along the way. I’ll listen, offer perspective, and gently challenge you when it may help. My goal is for you to leave with greater clarity, confidence, and tools you can actually use as you navigate life.
As a therapist, my goal is to provide empathy and compassion in an emotionally safe environment. I am passionate about helping people through the most difficult challenges life may have. I work with people to build their self-worth, ease emotional pain, and help regain a sense of enjoyment in their life as they once had. I envision helping people recognize their strengths, then build on their strengths, to help them to become more self-confident, happy and aware.
