Life can be messy, and I specialize in helping mamas and survivors of trauma navigate through complicated and uncharted waters. I believe we are all working to be our best selves, and with support and strategies you will get there - you are not alone, and there is hope.
I’m Katie Silver, LCSW-C, the Founder of Silver Psychotherapy, with over 20 years of experience as a licensed clinician, business consultant, and mental health advocate.
As a leader in the mental health field, I am passionate about not only supporting our clients’ mental wellness but also empowering mental health professionals to grow. My work extends beyond clinical care—while I oversee practice management and business development at Silver Psychotherapy, I also offer business coaching for therapists, helping clinicians navigate private practice growth, leadership development, and ethical entrepreneurship.
In addition, I am an active mental health speaker and advocate, delivering interactive speaking engagements and workshops on topics within the area mental health, practice growth strategies, burnout prevention, and growing a healthy workplace. Whether you are seeking a dynamic speaker for a mental health conference, training for your team, or individual business coaching, I bring real-world experience as a clinician, wife, mother, daughter, and friend—grounding every session in compassion and practical insight.
Life can quickly become overwhelming, often leaving us emotionally depleted and unable to cope effectively. In that state of mind, we can lose objectivity and compassion towards ourselves. My goal is to offer a safe place for you to express your feelings, and work together to promote self-exploration, identify damaging thoughts, implement coping strategies, and develop existing strengths for a healthier, happier you.
I am a therapist based in Maryland, dedicated to helping Maryland individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and build meaningful skills for growth. My path to this work began with a belief in the importance of accessible, evidence-based care for anyone seeking support—whether during difficult times or as part of personal development.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology from UMBC in 2015 and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2016. My professional experience includes supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, working with transitional-age youth, providing outpatient therapy in community mental health, and serving Veterans through the VA. These diverse roles shaped my therapeutic style, which is compassionate, practical, and results-oriented.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and sleep difficulties, with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and other evidence-based treatments. I also have extensive experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients and survivors of trauma.
In therapy, I strive to create a safe and collaborative environment where clients feel understood and empowered. My approach is evidence-based and goal-directed, while always tailored to each person’s needs. Therapy can be a place not only to work through challenges but also to build skills, strengthen resilience, and foster long-term growth.
Meeting clients where they are is my specialty. I have extensive experience and training working with survivors of trauma and clients who are facing grief and loss. I offer space for holistic approaches that clients embrace and utilize beyond therapy, and encourage them to grow and heal.
Ashley Bedeau, LCPC, is a Licensed Clinical Counselor. As an African American-Trinidadian, I offer a unique perspective in my practice. With a background in trauma care, dual-diagnosis treatment, and first responder wellness, I employ a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to promote resilience and healing. My goal is to help you navigate life's challenges with empathy and confidence.
