Welcome!
I'm Angel , a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I know life can feel overwhelming at times, and asking for help can be one of the hardest steps, so I'm glad you're here. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, and burnout, and I believe the best care starts with listening. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that's personalized to your needs, grounded in evidence, and focused on helping you feel like yourself again.
You may look like you're handling everything on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. Maybe you know you're safe, but your body doesn't always feel safe. Or perhaps you keep finding yourself caught in the same relationship patterns, overthinking everything, shutting down, or wondering why experiences from the past still affect you today.
Hi, I'm Jennifer Friedman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified (LCSW-C) in Maryland. I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and those times when you simply don't feel like yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Together, we'll work toward understanding what's underneath what you're feeling—not just managing the symptoms—so you can begin to feel safer, more connected, and more like yourself again.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 10 years of experience caring for individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges. Much of my career has been spent in inpatient psychiatry and psychiatric emergency services, where I have supported people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. These experiences have strengthened my ability to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care while helping clients navigate complex emotional and mental health concerns. I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood changes, ADHD, or other mental health concerns, my goal is to work alongside you to develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs and helps you move toward lasting wellness.
When navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, or trauma, it is easy to assume that something is fundamentally wrong with you. If you are struggling with low self-concept, anger, or substance usage, you might view these obstacles as personal failures. My goal is to completely shift that narrative. Together, we will look at what is going on with you, rather than what is wrong with you.
Since 1993, I have spent over 30 years helping individuals recognize their innate strengths and leverage them to overcome life’s hardest hurdles. Throughout my career, I have developed deep clinical expertise, obtaining specific, formal certifications across multiple states to ensure you receive highly credentialed and adaptive care.
Taking that first step to reach out for support can feel intimidating. Because of this, our introductory session is designed to be a safe, collaborative space. We will explore what is currently going well, examine the challenges you are experiencing, and align on your expectations for therapy. My primary objective is to establish an empowering professional relationship built entirely on your strengths.
