Hello, My name is Dr. Danielle Lefort! I am a licensed marriage, couples, and family counselor who specializes in relationships. I have spent the last 12 years studying what healthy relationships look like and ways to incorporate healthy experiences in ways that change lives for the better. I also work with people who are looking to address anxiety, depression, and increase an overall sense of well-being in their lives. Please see my website at drdaniellelefort.com for additional information.
As a licensed mental health professional, I believe that prioritizing our mental and emotional well-being is the foundation of a sustainable and healthy life. Over the past ten years in this field, one thing I’ve consistently learned is that simply having someone to talk to can be one of the most challenging parts of the therapeutic process.
I am here to offer safety, empathy, and practical strategies that support you in thriving the way you desire
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. I aim to create a safe, collaborative, and grounded space from the beginning. I meet clients where they are and move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. I also specialize in complex and developmental trauma.
I support clients in integrating their spiritual and cultural values into therapy when desired and clinically appropriate. I was born in New Orleans and bring a culturally informed perspective shaped by my Latina, Indigenous, Christian, and Sephardic Jewish backgrounds.
I became a therapist because I have a deep commitment to helping people recognize and build their own strengths, especially during periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. I understand that seeking support takes courage, and I work to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the process.
I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and PhD from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana and Texas, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota. I also hold a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Prevention Professional (LPP), and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
My path to psychiatric care is a little different from most. I spent over a decade as an Obstetrics Nurse before transitioning into psychiatric mental health — and that background deeply shapes how I show up for my clients. I understand the weight of life transitions, the complexity of the mind-body connection, and the importance of feeling truly supported. Now, as a PMHNP, I bring that same compassionate, whole-person perspective to mental health care.
Hello I am Ashaunti Edwards. I have been counseling for 10 years. I have worked with military families as I am a veteran, couples, individuals. I received my Bachelors degree in Addictions Counseling from Southern University of New Orleans. I received my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
I enjoy helping my clients find their voice and allowing them to feel heard. I look forward to working with you to narrative your own healthy story for your life.
I work with adults and children who feel overwhelmed by painful experiences, difficult memories, or life circumstances that have left them feeling stuck. If you've been carrying grief, trauma, anger, or emotions that feel hard to manage on your own, you don't have to sort through it alone. Therapy can be a place to slow down, better understand what you're going through, and begin moving toward healing with support, honesty, and hope.
I believe healing happens in a space where your full story is welcomed and respected. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, depression, and life transitions through a supportive, culturally aware, and collaborative approach.
Many of the clients I support feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, or exhausted from trying to manage everything on their own. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop practical tools that support healthier daily functioning and long-term healing.
With over thirteen years of experience in the field, I bring a depth of knowledge and a steady, grounded presence to every session. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and one of only eight Certified DBT Specialists (C-DBT) in the state of Louisiana. I received my DBT training at a VA hospital, where I had the privilege of working closely with veterans and developing a strong foundation in trauma-informed care.
Throughout my career, I have worked across all levels of care, from crisis settings to outpatient therapy, and that range has made me a confident, compassionate guide for clients navigating emotionally intense situations. I am also a Certified Trauma Specialist, and my work spans adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing challenges like trauma and PTSD, borderline personality disorder, mood disorders, addiction, self-harm, and eating disorders. I believe deeply that recovery is possible and that renewed hope is always within reach.
I believe that therapy is a partnership built on trust, compassion, and respect. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and experiences. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, behavioral challenges, and life transitions. I understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, and I strive to meet you where you are while helping you build the skills and confidence to create meaningful, lasting change.
