If you've ever felt like your brain works a little differently — constantly moving, questioning, or feeling things more deeply than you know what to do with — you're not alone, and you're in the right place. I work with children, teenagers, and young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and the pressures that come with just trying to figure life out. Many of my clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in cycles of self-doubt and exhaustion. Whatever brings you here, I want you to know that what you're experiencing makes sense — and things really can get better.
Hi, I am Susan. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in psychiatry, caring for adults with a wide range of mental health needs. I earned my BSN from Skidmore College, my MSN from Fairfield University, and I also completed training in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and adult sleep disorders at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the years, I have supported adults living with mood disorders, bipolar disorder, OCD, and ADHD, and I have also worked closely with parents and caregivers of children and adult children with special needs.
Nick Stanzione, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a comprehensive background in both inpatient psychiatry and outpatient mental health care. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Fairfield University, where he received advanced training in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and holistic psychiatric care. With years of experience as a psychiatric RN and clinical leader, Nick approaches treatment with empathy, clinical precision, and a strong emphasis on patient collaboration. He works with adults across the lifespan, tailoring care to meet each individual’s needs. Nick is committed to reducing stigma, improving access to care, and supporting long-term mental wellness through evidence-based, person-centered treatment.
My therapeutic style is to ask a lot of questions and really try to find the answers to what is bothering you. In our sessions, you will cry, laugh, talk excessively or talk a little. Our sessions will be all about you and what you need in the moment. I want our sessions to be a safe place for you to be comfortable. Bring your treats and your tissues. Bring your patience and your strength. We will be together and I will support you when you are feeling weak. Usually, I see what makes you special first. You will need to tell me what is wrong.
Welcome! Therapy can be daunting - but it doesn't need to be. I'm passionate about helping others overcome struggles, realize their true potential, and build the lives they've always dreamed of. My practice focuses on helping individuals and families work through a wide range of mental health, behavioral, and/or substance use issues. Most importantly, I bring my clinical expertise to our work without leaving my humanity at the door.
