I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of nursing experience working with patients facing diverse physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional challenges. As a result, my expertise in psychopharmacology is built upon years of nursing experience in various healthcare settings including hospitals, schools and academia.
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Liz Torres, LPC, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting individuals through life's challenges, crises, and periods of transition. My professional background includes crisis intervention, mental health assessment, treatment planning, and providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and other life challenges. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

I look forward to partnering with you as you take the next step toward improved emotional health and well-being.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that patients deserve to be heard. I am committed to providing thoughtful, collaborative mental health care where patients feel supported, respected and empowered throughout their journey toward mental wellness. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy and evidence-based interventions for conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma related concerns and life stressors. I have ten years of experience working in the mental health field in inpatient, outpatient residential, long-term care, tele-health and community mental health settings.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in couples therapy, trauma, and substance use recovery with a twist. Clients call me their "hippie therapist" because I bring a decade of holistic training, yoga, meditation, Reiki, and mindfulness into my clinical work. I've spent my career in addiction and behavioral health, including leadership roles at Mountainside Treatment Center. I especially love working with high-performing professionals, healthcare providers, athletes, and military members who spend their lives caring for others and are finally ready to receive care themselves.
I am an experienced behavioral health provider and health educator dedicated to treating patients with respect, dignity, and a focus on overall wellbeing, personal goals, recovery, and safety.
My professional background includes over 13 years as a nurse clinician and nurse practitioner for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) treating adult patients. Additionally, I spent 5 years at MAAS in New Haven specializing in opioid and alcohol use disorders, and I have provided outpatient behavioral health treatment for adults of all ages at LifeBridge Community Services for over 5 years.
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with a broad background in sociology. In my approach to treatment, I explore how culture, gender, and identity intersect with personality and neurochemical imbalances to produce psychiatric symptoms that impede daily functioning and interpersonal activities. Together with my clients, we determine the best pharmacological interventions to provide relief of these symptoms. I offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, assessment for post-traumatic stress disorder, Connecticut state registration for eligible clients for medical marijuana, and Suboxone treatment.
I work with adults (26 - 64 years old) to improve the quality of their lives through a collaborative process in which client and provider together devise treatment plans that combine medication and behavioral modification. I am especially interested in men's mental health, but I work with all adults regardless of their gender identity.
In a world that is increasingly busy and complex, life can be overwhelming for all of us at some point in our lives. We all need a variety of ways to decompress. For example, I like to go to a pickleball court as often as my body will allow, where I find activity, community, and friendship. It is at these times when we need to reach out for support. Don't feel you have to struggle alone. I invite you to reach out and make a connection.
I believe we all carry an inner resilience that can be activated and drawn on when life gets hard. My job is to understand how you see yourself and how you see what is in front of you, and then work alongside you from there. I see adults navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and substance use, as well as people looking for a
steady and nonjudgmental place to work through whatever they are carrying. If that sounds like where you are, reach out.
Currently accepting new clients. Are you seeking a natural path to healing and vitality in your life? It's my passion to help you live your one wild and precious life to its fullest. I help clients remember who they are, how to find their power and learn how to bring it as a gift to the world. Through the process of personal exploration, healing in nature and building healthy relationships, I can help you experience more vitality, purpose and meaning in your life.
