As a therapist, my goal is to help you live a happier and more fulfilling life. It can be difficult to know if you are on the right path, have healthy relationships, and are satisfied with your life's direction. How do you feel about where you are headed? I can support your self discovery in a compassionate and understanding way. I work towards identifying one's strengths and empowering clients struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship problems and life transitions. I specialize in working with young women, new moms and couples navigating the transitional stages of family life.
I attended Michigan State University for undergraduate studies before earning my Bachelor of Science degree from KMC International Center, Manipal University. I obtained an MD from American University of Antigua College of Medicine. Following medical school, I completed a residency in Psychiatry at Detroit Wayne County Authority Health, where my training focused on serving medically underserved communities. During residency, I also earned a certificate in Population Health and Health Equity from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. I served as chief resident in my third year of training. I am board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals optimize their overall mental health. I am a psychologist who works well with adults facing life transitions such as parenting, changes in relationships, career shifts, crises of faith, or loss of a loved one. My doctoral research on self-sabotaging dynamics has informed my clinical approach to addressing patterns of "stuckness."
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the Long Beach area, and I'm passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel truly heard.
