Choosing the right provider is an important step in your healing, and I strive to make that decision feel safe, supportive, and empowering. I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who brings both professional expertise and personal understanding of mental health challenges into my work. I care deeply about creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. I work with adolescents and adults ages 15 and older, helping individuals navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, and feeling stuck. I offer both in-person services near Knoxville and telehealth across Tennessee to make quality care more accessible.
This is a telehealth practice. As a personal choice, the use of narcotics or other controlled (DEA) meds are minimal, if any. I've been a psych nurse practitioner for at least 14yrs. I believe in managing conditions with psychiatric and non-psychiatric treatment modalities that are evidence based. The use of the least amount of meds, at lower doses that does the healing of symptoms, is an active process involving the client and based on the reported experiences. Safety is the core of my practice and my job is to help clients understand internal signals and how to prevent another crisis.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Psychiatrist in Nashville
Finding the right psychiatrist in Nashville starts with understanding what kind of care you need. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication over time. Therapists provide talk therapy and may work alongside a prescriber. If you are looking for support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or medication management, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and approach so you can choose care that fits your needs.
Nashville has many psychiatry options across areas like East Nashville, Midtown, downtown, and nearby communities such as Franklin and Nolensville, which can make narrowing the search more involved. Psychiatric appointments for medication management are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, so scheduling, location, and appointment format matter. Some psychiatrists also offer therapy, and some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. Before booking, read each profile to compare availability, virtual or in-person options, session structure, and whether a free phone consultation is offered.
Psychiatric care in Nashville can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your out-of-pocket expense before care begins. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who are accepting new patients and match your insurance details, so you can review bios, see estimated costs upfront, and book directly when you are ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
