I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with training in adult outpatient psychiatry and telehealth. My background includes psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults with anxiety, depression, mood-related concerns, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, sleep difficulties, and stress or burnout. I take a supportive, collaborative approach focused on clear communication and shared decision-making. Evening appointments are available.
My path to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner was inspired by personal experiences. The stigma of mental health obstructs many people's journeys to achieving happiness. As a US Army Veteran, I have seen firsthand how this affects the lives of those struggling and their families. My goal is to enhance awareness and reduce the stigma.
Welcome to my practice! For the past past 4 years, I have been working as a board certified inpatient psychiatric APRN on an acute behavioral health unit. I have obtained my Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) at University of Saint Joseph. Throughout my experience, I have worked with a multitude of patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist with a passion for helping individuals achieve mental well-being through innovative and compassionate care. As the author of The Guide to Treating Depression and a regular contributor to The Carlat Psychiatry Report—an independent journal free from pharmaceutical funding—I am committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Westport
Finding psychiatrists in Westport starts with knowing which type of care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication, while therapists focus on talk therapy and support. Medication management may be part of care for concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or OCD. Some people start with a therapist, some start with a prescriber, and some work with both.
Westport is a smaller local market, so nearby in-person options may be more limited than in larger cities like Bridgeport or Stamford. Virtual psychiatry can expand your options while still letting you choose care that fits your schedule. As you compare Westport psychiatrists, look at appointment availability, whether a free phone consultation is offered, and whether the psychiatrist’s profile lists experience with your concern. A bio can also show how the psychiatrist structures visits, communicates about medication management, and approaches ongoing care.
Psychiatric care in Westport can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before booking. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who are accepting new patients, enter your insurance details for a cost estimate, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
