Hello there! Congrats on the brave choice you have made to reach out for help! I have a passion for helping people find healing and connection in their lives and relationships. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas and have over 12 years experience serving hundreds of individuals and couples to help them find healing and live their best lives.
I work from the lens of wellness for the whole person, incorporating mindfulness, and physical (including nutritional), mental, and emotional well-being, through the context of relationship. I believe growth and healing come from power held in the individual I am working with, and I aim to empower each person to access this from within themselves.

My name is Ebony Walker and I am an LPC in the State of Virginia. I completed my undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and obtained my Masters Degree from Liberty University. I have a history of working with individuals with a broad range of concerns to include: depression, stress/anxiety, lack of coping skills, issues with anger, relationship issues, trauma, poor communication, abuse/neglect, relationship and family conflict with focus on adults, adolescents and couples.
The foundation of my counseling practice is the therapeutic alliance, rapport, and trust with my clients. My person-centered approach allows for positive changes to occur within the safety of a healthy therapeutic relationship. My role is to be genuine and authentic, to treat you with empathy unconditionally, and to provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental environment to reconnect with your authentic self. I tailor interventions to the needs of individual clients.
My personal journey was not one I would choose. My first husband was diagnosed with cancer in September 2004 and died in February 2006. The experience of spousal caregiving and young widowhood, and 10 years as a federal Special Agent eventually led me to change careers to become a counselor.
I love helping individuals and couples build meaning, self-acceptance, and self-worth despite grief, trauma, shame, and problematic behavior and relationship patterns.
