I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001 and I later earned my Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. I am dedicated to providing a non-judgmental, safe space for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings. I have served in community agencies, Residential Treatment and Outpatient settings. Hi. My name is Monique Branch, a licensed therapist that provides a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood and encouraged as you navigate life's challenges. Whether dealing with stress, relationship concerns, personal growth, or difficult seasons in life, my goal is to help you build healthier connections with yourself and others. I believe in meeting you where you are, offering compassion without judgement, and working together to create a meaningful change. To me, you are more than a client, you're a person whose story matters.
My approach is direct, compassionate, culturally aware, and deeply grounded in trauma-informed care. I help clients understand not just what they are feeling, but why their mind and body respond the way they do. A lot of people come to therapy feeling exhausted from surviving, overthinking, masking, people pleasing, or functioning on autopilot. Together, we work on building emotional safety, nervous system regulation, healthier relationships, self-awareness, and practical tools that actually work in real life.
I specialize in trauma, anxiety, stress management, emotional regulation, relationship dynamics, self-esteem, life transitions, and helping high-capacity individuals who are successful externally but overwhelmed internally. My work integrates evidence-based practices, somatic awareness, attachment-focused interventions, and practical strategies that support both emotional wellness and everyday functioning.
I am originally from North Carolina and moved to Virginia 6 years ago. I studied at Wake Forest University. Since I was younger, I've enjoyed helping others and learning about the science of mental health. It became my hobby when I was younger. I enjoy working with so many backgrounds and increasing my education each year as I help new people. Currently, I like to utilize mindfulness based CBT, DBT, and ACT.
I primarily work in grief and loss, relationships, parenting, and attachment, with special interest in non-death related losses. I hold a BGS from the University of West Florida, an MSW from the University of Alabama, and have completed extensive continuing education including the University of Vermont's End-of-Life doula program. I am a TBRI® Practitioner, WRAP® Facilitator, and am a Gottman Seven Principles Leader.
