l've spent almost all of my adult life working in the public behavioral health field: Eight years at a Community Mental Health Center and 30 years for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health. Working for the state taught me the overwhelming need for compassionate mental health services in our state, along with the enormous resilience of our citizens.
As a child of the 70's, I:
Have seen enormous cultural changes in my life;
Am a parent of a blended family and grandparent;
Have been divorced and remarried;
Have an adult grandchild living with my wife and I;
Have lost loved ones;
Have been a caregiver;
Am a cancer survivor;
Am (mostly) a retiree;
Have been burned out at my job.
In short, I am a human who has gone through much of what most of us have gone through.
It would be my honor to explore with you what will help you make the most out of your life.
I work with teens and adults to support their journey of self-reflection and growth. If you are seeking a collaborative and authentic approach to therapy, let's connect!
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of Oklahoma. I am currently employed by Gillispie Counseling Services. Please call 580-736-8102 for appointment information. My focus is "systemic" because I believe all aspects of the environment contribute to the individual. I have a master's level education in Marriage & Family Therapy. I have experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and couples with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns.
Hi, I enjoy working with people who are ready to do the work within themselves. Just like gps you say the destination and we'll be on our way.
My name is Lari Smith, and I’ve spent nearly 15 years helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I hold multiple graduate‐level degrees, including a Master of Science in Human Resources (2006), a Master’s Certificate in Addiction Counseling (2016), and a Master of Science in Psychological Services (2017). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma and am currently under supervision for my LADC.
Before entering private practice, I worked for the Department of Human Services and later served as a school counselor in rural K–8 schools. These experiences deepened my passion for supporting children, families, and individuals facing complex or overwhelming life circumstances. Today, I work with clients of all ages and have a special appreciation for both children and older adults.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, but I frequently draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have experience treating a wide range of concerns, including adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, child sexual abuse, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and other mental health challenges. I also bring personal insight into chronic pain after experiencing a serious car accident in 2017 that resulted in multiple broken bones.
I currently practice in a rural Oklahoma community and am accepting new clients. I offer virtual sessions and accept insurance, with a full list available through Headway.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I’ve been married for 28 years and have three adult children. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my four‐month‐old granddaughter—and I love baking.
If you’d like to explore whether we’re a good fit, I offer a free consultation. I’d be honored to support you on your journey—reach out today and let’s get started.
I'm a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of experience working with adults navigating some of life's hardest seasons — infertility, adoption, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the kind of grief that doesn't have a clear name yet. I'm faith-integrated in my approach, which means I honor the role spirituality plays in your life without ever making it a requirement. My clients describe me as warm, easy to talk to, and refreshingly direct. I don't do one-size-fits-all therapy — every treatment plan starts with your story.
I'm Mary, and I've spent 16 years doing this work — across crisis centers, inpatient units, community mental health, and private practice. What's kept me here isn't the credentials. It's what I've seen: that people who've been through the hardest things are often the most resilient, when someone finally helps them find the right tools. I specialize in trauma and substance use because these two things are rarely separate. I hold a master's degree in both clinical mental health and addiction counseling, and I bring that dual lens to every session. I'm LGBTQIA+-affirming, work with ages 6 through seniors, and offer telehealth throughout Oklahoma so location is never a barrier.
I believe every person holds the power to heal, grow, and live out their boldest dreams. Life’s challenges and trauma can block that potential. I offer transformational and practical tools to help individuals overcome mental health struggles and awaken to abundant fulfillment.
As a thriver myself, I’ve moved beyond immense adversity and now guide others to do the same. With over two decades of experience across private practice, government, and global consulting, I’ve supported NFL athletes, entertainers, healthcare providers, spiritual leaders, executives, military and government leaders and more to navigate the perils of life.
As an EMDR-trained, culturally responsive therapist, I integrate holistic and evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, CPT, IFS, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. I also incorporate spiritually grounded and decolonized practices where desired.
Rooted in social justice, I engage in advocacy through education, training, and collaborative partnerships. I’m honored to support people across racial, gender, and identity spectrums, including the LGBTQIA+ community.
Since 2004, I’ve journeyed with countless people to support them to rediscover hope. If you’re feeling drawn to this space, I’m here to walk with you.
Fun fact: I’m a mom of four, a fashion therapist, and a lover of music, vintage finds (furniture and clothing), and all things metaphysical. If I weren’t a therapist, I’d be in law or fashion!
