Over nine years ago my life changed. I lost a son to suicide due to unaddressed mental health needs. A system that was overwhelmed failed him. I returned to school to help close that gap and want to work with others to start their journey towards mental wellness. As someone who has experienced depression and anxiety, I understand the challenges faced.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, I specialize in psychiatric medication management and the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD (treatment with non-stimulant medication), bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, mood disorders and related conditions.

Hi, I’m Michael Aluvieve, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) providing telehealth therapy for adults across Ohio. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, and also work with stress, PTSD, and life transitions.

My approach is both professional and personal. After being accepted to Berklee College of Music, my own experience with mental health got in the way. Now I'm passionate about helping others that struggle with their mental health. Mental health issues aren't just a clinical notion to me, I am familiar with how burdensome and painful they can be.

An experienced professional, I offer extensive experience in psychotherapy in a variety of areas. I am especially conversant in working with adolescents and seniors as well as adults.

I believe clients can reach their highest potential through support and greater self-awareness. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology in 2015 and my master’s degree in counseling in 2018. Over the past 8 years, I have worked with a variety of clients in multiple levels of care. This has in included outpatient counseling for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders, group treatment for clients transitioning from psychiatric hospitalization, and supporting court-ordered clients with substance use and mental health concerns. Most recently, I worked at a group private practice specializing in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and perfectionism.

I am a mother of 3 children with autism. I have completed my undergraduate studies at Kent State, My graduate studies at Capella University where I did residency in Chicago and Atlanta. I have almost 7 years of experience in the field working in collaboration with ODJFS to help children and families. I live on a small hobby farm in Ohio and enjoy the outdoors.
