Hi! I am Marissa, thank you for taking the time to read this and decide if I might be the therapist for you. I have a Masters in Social work from Cleveland State University and have been a Licensed Social Worker (LISW-S) since 2016. I have had the honor to work with a diverse population of people over the years. Currently I am working in private practice with individuals and families. I work with children as young as 3 years old through the lifespan. I have a passion for perinatal mental health, women's health, chronic illnesses, parenting, and children/adolescents.
Clients have often expressed feeling I am genuine and authentic in our work together. I take pride in this as I feel we are all people trying to navigate life with the skills we have and all need additional support to find healthier or better skills. I look forward to getting to know you and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
Hello! I work with adults who are in a season of growth, transition, or self-discovery and who may feel burned out, stuck, or unsure of themselves despite being capable and insightful.
You deserve care that honors all of who you are. I'm Denise, an LPCC in Ohio with 30 years of experience supporting adults through trauma, grief, ADHD, chronic illness, and more. I'm affirming and welcoming to LGBTQIA+, transgender, and neurodiverse clients. I'd love to connect.
My background is in special education, which is why neurodiversity like Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and learning differences are areas where I have real depth, not just familiarity. I've spent years understanding how neurodivergent brains work - and how the mental health system often misses them. I also work with clients who've been hurt by their church, their pastor, or their faith community - what many people now call "church hurt." This is a profoundly underserved area of care, and my training at Trinity Seminary means I'm not approaching it from the outside. I understand the language, the culture, and the specific kind of grief that comes with spiritual betrayal. I treasure my global experience and look forward to working with multi-cultural people, including immigrants and refugees.
I am kind and supportive and will also hold you accountable.
I specialize in working with individuals facing PTSD, complex trauma, substance abuse challenges, and more. I earned a Master of Social Work degree from Ohio State University College of Social Work in 2012.
Back-to-school ADHD & adolescent anxiety visits — evening appointments available! If you've cycled through medications that didn't work, been put on prescriptions that never quite fit, or felt handed a pill for every symptom without anyone explaining why — you're not a difficult case. You're a patient who hasn't been fully heard yet.
I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with additional certification in telebehavioral health, and I do things differently: I take the time to get the complete picture before making any decision. My career — from flight nursing to inpatient behavioral health — taught me to stay calm and thorough with the most complex cases. I treat mental and physical health together,
grounded in evidence-based care, and I make sure you understand your options — medications, nutrition, sleep, movement — so you can make real choices about your own care.
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating — especially if you’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or unsure whether therapy will actually help. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or like you’re barely holding things together on the outside, you’re not alone.
My approach is warm, direct, practical, and collaborative. I help clients not only process emotions, but also understand why certain patterns keep happening and how to create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, healthier coping skills, nervous system regulation, and stronger relationships.
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, attachment wounds, self-esteem issues, or difficulty managing intense emotions. I work to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, understood, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
If any of this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you in your healing process.
