I have been a Social Worker for 30 years! That's crazy for me to think about because I am not THAT old......and I have learned a lot (about myself) along the way. I have learned that I do like to talk to people more than I let on. I have learned that I can be very patient listener and I give good feedback. And, I have learned that, at some point, we all have to make changes in our lives and that can be scary. I have also learned it's not as scary when we talk about it out loud........just saying.
I believe healing happens best in spaces where you feel safe, understood, and never judged. I bring both curiosity and compassion to every session, and I genuinely love learning about the unique story that makes you you. I’m thoughtful, a little quirky in the best way, and always eager to grow... both as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and as a person. That means I stay open-minded, ask meaningful questions, and work collaboratively with you to find what truly fits your needs. You’re the expert on your life; I’m here to support you with knowledge, guidance, and encouragement.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, or just feeling stuck, I want you to know that you don’t have to figure it out alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move toward the life you want.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My expertise includes trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavior management, family conflict, life transitions, and relationship issues through a predominantly Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach. As a queer female, I especially enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community.
I specialize in treating trauma, with extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy to treat youth and Cognitive Processing Therapy for adults. I also have training in and incorporate principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and work with adults who want a supportive, reflective space to better understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges. I support clients experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, burnout, parenting challenges, and major life transitions.
I also bring extensive experience working with children and teens which provides a valuable perspective in my work with adults who are parents. I enjoy working with parents who want to better understand their children, strengthen connection and feel more confident navigating the often complicated demands of parenting.
I offer teletherapy to adults located in North Carolina.
