About Me
I'm not your typical psychotherapist, and everyone I've had the honor to work with on their life's journey can attest to this. Born, raised and forged in the "Steel City" and sharpened in the "City of Brotherly Love", the term "Alchemist" more accurately describes who I am. I specialize in alchemizing pain into purpose and trauma into triumph. If you're ready to transform your life, I'm your guy!
I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife, with graduate education from Duke University and East Carolina University.
I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care and have a special interest in supporting women across the lifespan, as well as veterans, military spouses, and children navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life's many transitions.
My connection to the military community is both professional and deeply personal. In addition to my clinical training, I have spent more than 20 years as part of a military family. This experience has given me firsthand insight into the unique sacrifices, resilience, and often unseen challenges faced by service members and their loved ones. It has strengthened my commitment to providing care that is empathetic, respectful, and grounded in an understanding of military life.
For the past 12 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife, I have had the privilege of caring for women throughout every stage of life, supporting not only their physical health but also their emotional and mental well-being. It has been an honor to walk alongside women during some of their most meaningful and vulnerable moments, and I am grateful to continue that work by helping individuals achieve greater mental wellness and resilience.
As a board-certified psychotherapist, I believe prioritizing mental health is key to mental stability in life. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! I’ve been practicing for over 10 years. I have had the opportunity to support individuals and families in their journey to healing and resilience.
I have counseling work experience in residential, community agency, college counseling center and outpatient settings. I have experience with adolescents and adults, providing personal, psychoeducational and psychosocial counseling services. I also have experience in working with families and caregivers. Additionally, I have experience working with adults in crisis and with substance abuse problems. I am licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. In addition, I am Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II and Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider. I have worked in the mental health field for over twenty years. I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Master of Science degree in Counseling (Agency) in 2009. I received my Associate Licensure in 2012 and worked under supervision until receiving full licensure in 2018.
You're accomplished, dependable, and often the person everyone turns to—but carrying it all can be exhausting. I work with professional women navigating anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, and major life transitions. For women who are used to being seen as “strong,” therapy can be a space where you don't have to perform or have it all figured out. Together, we'll explore what's beneath the stress, break unhelpful patterns, and build practical coping tools that fit your life. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, culturally responsive, and centered on you.
