I'm Jihan — a bilingual LCSW, second-generation Cuban/American Latina, and relational therapist
based in New York City, offering Telehealth sessions across New York State. I have four years of
clinical experience working with adults and adolescents across a range of concerns: anxiety, grief,
ADHD, major life transitions, trauma, burnout, and the kind of identity work that comes with being
young, bicultural, or figuring out who you are in a world that doesn't always have room for
complexity.
I'm proudly LGBTQ+ affirming and see clients across the gender and sexuality spectrum.
I work best with adolescents, young adults, and adults in the middle of something — a transition, a
loss, a recognition that old patterns aren't working. I'm not here to foster dependency or give you a
script for your life. I'm here to help you build the kind of self-understanding that goes with you.
If you have ADHD, you’ve probably spent your life being told—or telling yourself—that you are lazy, messy, inconsistent, or just don't listen. You’ve likely tried the planners, the apps, and traditional talk therapy to "fix" these things, only to end up feeling burned out and frustrated by the grind.
I do things differently. I don’t view your ADHD as a flaw to be cured; I view it as a powerful engine. My approach bridges deep nervous system regulation with a mechanical framework based on the Law of Assumption.
The reality of your life—your career, your stress levels, your relationships—is simply a mirror reflecting your Self-Concept. If you assume that life has to be a chaotic struggle or that you are inherently "falling short," your reality will continue to reflect that back to you.
In my practice, we don't just talk about the struggle or dwell in the past. We act as detectives to find the core assumptions running the show. Together, we identify what you actually desire, rewrite the assumptions that are keeping you stuck, and use somatic energy work like EFT/Tapping to calm your nervous system when your brain tries to resist the shift.
My psychiatric experience includes adolescents at NewYork-Presbyterian's Westchester Behavioral Health Center and adults, adolescents, and children at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah. I have an MSN from Hunter College, a BSN from Pace University, and a BA in psychology from Harvard University.
Thomas' goal is to help you overcome life’s challenges and reconnect with your most authentic self. Are you struggling to feel fulfilled, create meaningful connections, or adjust to life transitions? Is it difficult to overcome the stress, anxiety, and sadness you might be experiencing? These struggles are hard to face alone—but you don’t have to anymore. Thomas here to help. He will work with you to find your inner strength, wisdom, and healing to create lasting change. If you don't know exactly what to work on in therapy, that's okay too! If the only thing you need is someone to listen and understand your struggle, he's here.
I help people navigate life, as they seek to better understand why they are in the place they find themselves, who they are in relation to the world and others, and where they would like to be.
