Therapy isn't about perfection - it’s about showing up as you are, wherever you are. Whether you’re navigating grief, postpartum changes, or the weight of life’s stress, I offer a safe and compassionate space where you can feel supported, heard, and ready to move from survival mode toward healing.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re used to caring for everyone else first. I see that kind of devotion as a quiet strength, and my goal is to help you begin caring for yourself too—even if it feels unfamiliar.
I have over 10 years experience in private practice and in home therapy, truly getting to know my clients, their families, and home lives with focus in anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, and stress management.
Hi there, I am licensed therapist with a decade of experience in clinical practice with clients. I have a background in cognitive behavioral therapy and I specialized in working with people experiencing interpersonal issues, life transitions, career problems, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, ADHD, as well as trauma.
Hello! My name is Dana and my experience includes working with adults with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety disorders, life transitions, communication, and low self-esteem. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a focus in direct practice. Additionally, I am a licensed psychotherapist (LCSW) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), which provides advanced training to help clients suffering from a variety of anxiety disorders.
I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals and families through behavioral health and substance use challenges. My approach is grounded in trauma‐informed care, cultural sensitivity, and meeting people exactly where they are. I believe healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment.
I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at Monmouth University and have worked across inpatient, outpatient, community, and addiction treatment settings. My background includes detox and MAT services, crisis stabilization, care coordination, and leading interdisciplinary teams. I also serve as a clinical instructor for BSN students, which keeps me connected to education, mentorship, and the next generation of nurses.
Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my profile!
I’ve been working in the mental health field in New Jersey since 2007, when I began my career toward becoming a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I soon settled into the role of clinical therapist, being recognized as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors, with a tendency to most frequently work with those coping with anxiety, depression, and relationship problems.
In 2020, I left the community clinic I had been working with to form a private practice. Here, I can meet with and focus on my clients, providing each with the attention they deserve. One of the primary purposes of coming to therapy is to be heard. I am here to listen.
Not just listen, though! We work together to come up with a solution to the problem or issue you are working through. As we discuss what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past, we learn to tell the difference between a healthy, productive way to cope and a less-than-desirable way to deal with your problem.
Therapy should be uniquely tailored to each person. I work with clients to identify patterns of behavior that may have contributed to difficulties in relationships—with family, friends, or at work or school—and help find ways to create positive change. We learn to change our perspective on life, our past, our entire reality, and recognize that we really can control how we think and what we think about.
I am a culturally sensitive person, and bring these attributes into my practice, along with a skill set which has helped many as the years have passed with the gratitude in helping many clients in their individual change process.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Maplewood, NJ and the founder of canyons therapy. I can see clients who live in New Jersey, Texas, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. I am a recovering perfectionist, anxious mom, and lover of a slow-paced life. In session, you will find me casually dressed, warm beverage in-hand, and ready to hold space for your most imperfect self. Outside of session, I’m wrangling my young kids and doing my best to embrace our chaos. I enjoy being in nature, watching the latest documentary, and curating mood-setting playlists.
