Hello, I'm glad you're here. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who believes therapy is a true collaboration built on trust, mutual respect, and safety. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, anger and impulse challenges, grief, identity, relationship dynamics, and the many transitions of women's lives, including pregnancy, postpartum, and maternal mental health. Whatever brings you in, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and supported.
With over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, I specialize in supporting people navigating LGBTQ+ identity, relationships, and the coming out process. Whether you're stepping into your identity for the first time, rebuilding after a difficult transition, or managing the stress and relationship challenges that come with trying to balance everything, you deserve a therapist who truly gets it. I bring warmth, directness, and a genuine investment in helping you feel more like yourself.
Dr. Jack Borenstein is a Licensed Psychologist located in South Florida, originally from the New York metropolitan area. Dr. Borenstein obtained his Ph.D. from the Dept. of Clinical and Counseling Psychology at Columbia University. He also completed in a concentration in Latino Mental Health and Bilingual Counseling. Supporting a service member’s transition to civilian life and supporting a new mom through postpartum may seem like different roles, but both call for someone who will not flinch at the hard stuff. I work with veterans, parents adjusting to a new baby, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, and other concerns that do not fit neatly into one box. Clients often tell me they feel seen and understood from our first conversation.
I earned an MSW from Tulane School of Social Work in 1989 and am a clinical social worker. I also practice Psychodrama and am a graduate of the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute in NY. I work primarily with musicians, actors & writers. I have a long history of working in non-profit agencies and schools, providing top notch care to disadvantaged and oppressed adolescents and families.
Figuring out who you are, and where you fit, can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying anxiety, family stress, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Therapy can be a space where you don't have to have everything figured out.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families to create a supportive, affirming environment where people feel safe showing up exactly as they are. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, identity exploration, family conflict, relationship concerns, stress, or major life transitions. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that support confidence, resilience, and meaningful growth.
Clients should know that I am non-judgmental, client centered, empathetic, and will work within their belief systems. I look to empower clients so they can live their best lives. I have a lot of experience working with co-occurring disorders, relationship issues, and substance use disorders/addictions of all types.
