Many people come to therapy not because something is "wrong" with them, but because they're ready for something different. I believe that most people who seek support aren't broken, they're brave. They've decided that something needs to shift, and they're willing to do the work to get there.
Whether you're navigating past trauma, breaking patterns that no longer serve you, or working through negative self-talk, you don't have to figure it out alone.
I'm Joanna Saint Jacques, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with children and adults across a range of life experiences. My approach is warm, direct, and deeply collaborative. We work together to explore what's holding you back and create space for real, lasting change.
I’ve been married since 2015 to a wonderful woman and have one daughter. I’m bilingual (English/Spanish). I earned a Master of Science in Psychology in 2014 and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in 2019. I’ve been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2017. I've also had 13 years of corporate experience. I specialize in trauma, identity, self-esteem, and spirituality. I combine Christian counseling as a holistic approach with evidence-based therapies. I enjoy working with men and women alike.
I truly enjoy helping people achieve their goals for emotional well-being. Whether you are experiencing anxiety or depression, or simply struggling with motivation, I would love to help you on your journey! I have 20+ years experience working as a therapist. I am a graduate of Northern Michigan University and University of Michigan. My professional internships were completed at Marquette General Hospital Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Ward and at the University of Toledo Student Counseling Center. Following graduate school, I worked as a counselor for foster and adopted children. I also worked as a K- 8th grade school counselor. In 2002, I joined the United States Air Force, where I spent 8 years working to improve the mental health of military members and their families. While deployed, I operated a combat stress clinic and responded to emergent mental health needs of soldiers, sailors and airmen. After separating from the USAF, I have continued working as a therapist, serving adults from various backgrounds. I embrace diversity, and welcome all people!
