Many of the people I work with are going through some kind of transition.
Sometimes that looks like anxiety that’s getting harder to manage, feeling stuck in the same patterns, or navigating changes in relationships, identity, or life direction. Other times it’s grief, stress, or a sense that something just isn’t working the way it used to.
You might find yourself overthinking, shutting down, or reacting in ways that don’t quite make sense, even to you. You may understand things logically, but still feel stuck emotionally.
My background is in clinical mental health counseling, and my work is grounded in approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I also have advanced training in working with relationship dynamics, which often show up even in individual therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a journalist. That still shapes how I work today. I pay close attention, listen for patterns, and help you make sense of your story in a way that feels clear, grounded, and meaningful.
I am an experienced psychotherapist with a passion to help individuals in their healing journey, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. My area of expertise is trauma recovery. I strive to create safe environments for clients to explore their experiences while supporting them in building fulfilling lives. I earned my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2009.
Hi, my name is Lindsey (she/her/hers). I work with individuals processing grief and loss, those grappling with relationship and self-esteem issues, and parents of teens with mental health issues. I graduated from Smith College School of Social Work and completed a post-graduate fellowship at The Menninger Clinic in Houston before moving to Colorado.
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to people who don’t look, sound, or live like me. I believe the human story is one of the most powerful and inspiring elements of life; and I believe sharing our stories with others is medicine to both listener and teller. Curiosity is a big part of why I became a therapist. Glad Acres is named after the street my grandmother lived on. Her home was a safe and hospitable abode for many people to share their stories, and I seek to emulate the same in the therapy room.
Outside of work, you can find me on my yoga mat, outside on a walk, deep in a craft project, or nursing a good cup of coffee. Music and shows have always been where I go to feel, process, and connect with myself and others. I've also had the opportunity to travel to Greece to work with women who survived trafficking, an experience that shaped how I understand resilience and what it means to help someone reclaim their story.
I've been in therapy myself for 13 years, and I know how exhausting it can be to talk in circles; understanding why you feel something and still feeling stuck in your body. That's why I bring somatic, nervous-system-focused work like EMDR into my practice: healing isn't just intellectual, it's felt.
I love working with people ready to do that inner work: a little nervous maybe, open to being gently challenged, showing up not perfectly, but consistently and with curiosity. Therapy is challenging, and I've seen its rewards in my own life, and in the lives of the people I've had the privilege to sit with. I'd be honored to walk alongside you throughout some of your journey.
If any of this lands for you, I’d love to connect!

I have wanted to be a therapist since I was twelve years old after seeing a guru use his expertise to connect with a troubled child who had only known how to push others away. Over twenty five years later, I'm privileged enough to have found my own niche, working with individual adults address the impacts of trauma, anxiety, and depression. They have proven that the capacity to love and embrace life can be rediscovered, even for those who have lived through the unbearable.
