I’m a Doctor of Nursing Practice–trained Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a career shaped by service, compassion, and a genuine love for helping people feel seen, supported, and capable of healing. Before becoming a PMHNP, I spent many years as a CNA and later earned my BSN from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2015 in San Antonio, TX. I worked bedside at University Hospital, transitioned to hospice in 2016, and later served in case management at UTHSCSA. In 2023, I began my DNP–PMHNP program, completing it while working full time at Clarity Child Guidance Center. On December 13th, 2025, I was officially granted the title of “Dr.”, became board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner on February 9th, 2026, and finally obtained my APRN with the Texas Board of Nursing on March 12th, 2026!
My doctoral project focused on reducing seclusion rates for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder using evidence‐based, trauma‐informed interventions—an area close to my heart as a parent of a special‐needs child. I’m passionate about geriatric psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry, and I bring a calm, grounded, and collaborative style to treatment.
I also briefly served in the United States Air Force, an experience that strengthened my commitment to resilience, service, and advocacy. Today, I continue to advocate for women affected by domestic violence, helping them reclaim safety, confidence, and possibility.
On a personal note, I’m a mom of two boys, happily married for 11 years, and the proud owner of four dogs. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me drinking coffee, shopping for plants, collecting perfumes, baking, cooking, or spending time with family and friends. These parts of my life help me stay balanced, grounded, and connected—values I bring into every therapeutic relationship.

Mind is full of energy, so health of the mind matters first”- Hira Ratan Manek.
Hello! I'm a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing, specializing in psychiatry. I'm qualified to diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, panic disorder, and PTSD.
I believe in treating each person holistically — considering the mental, physical, environmental, and social factors that shape your wellbeing. My approach is non-judgmental, because I understand there is no shame or guilt in seeking help for mental health. Many of the clients I work with come to me feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and anxious — and helping them move through that is exactly why I do this work. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, shopping, and trying new foods.
When anxiety, depression, mood changes, or emotional stress begin to interfere with your daily life, it can feel like you're carrying more than you were ever meant to carry alone. You may be tired of simply getting through the day and ready for a clearer path forward. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Together, we'll uncover what's contributing to your struggles and create a plan that helps you regain balance, build confidence, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in College Station
Finding psychiatrists in College Station starts with understanding which type of mental health care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication over time. Therapists provide talk therapy and support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and stress. Some people start with a therapist, some start with a prescriber, and some work with both. As you compare options, look for a psychiatrist whose listed specialties, training, and care approach match what you want help with.
In a smaller city like College Station, local psychiatry options may be more limited than in larger Texas markets. Virtual appointments can expand your search while still giving you access to licensed psychiatrists who fit your schedule and preferences. Medication management visits are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, so it helps to review appointment availability, whether a psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading bios can also show how each psychiatrist communicates, what conditions they often support, and whether they also provide therapy.
Psychiatric care in College Station can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists who match your needs, verify your insurance, and see available appointments upfront. Every psychiatrist listed is accepting new patients, so you can review bios, compare fit, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
