With over twenty-seven years of diverse nursing experience, particularly in Emergency Room and Mental Health settings, such as St. Elizabeth Hospital, Providence Hospital, and the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. These positions have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of both clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
Michael M. Zavala, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a Texas and New Mexico based Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner focused on holistic integrative psychiatry.
I help adults experiencing obesity, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, and burnout/moral injury rediscover their sense of excitement and engagement with work, loved ones, and life by offering a specialized approach for those motivated to uncover the root cause of their symptoms, with medication as an option, NOT the only option.
Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burnt out, or simply “not like themselves.” Whether the root is mental health, hormones, or a mix of both, my goal is to help you understand what’s happening in your body and mind — and create a plan that actually helps you feel better.
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of experience treating complex chronic conditions, acute medical issues, and a wide range of mental health concerns. My background in the emergency room strengthened my ability to stay calm, think clearly, and support patients through some of their most difficult moments.
I am double board‐certified as an FNP‐BC and PMHNP‐BC, which allows me to integrate medical and psychiatric expertise. This means I look at the full picture — hormones, sleep, stress, mood, lifestyle, and physical health — to understand what’s driving your symptoms.
My approach is compassionate, practical, and evidence‐based. I take time to listen, explain things clearly, and work with you to create a treatment plan that fits your life. You deserve care that feels supportive, personalized, and focused on long‐term wellness.
If you’re ready to feel more balanced, focused, and in control again, I’m here to help you get there.
Hi, and welcome! I am happy you are here to explore my offerings and a return to your wellbeing. A bit about me:
I am a board-certified, doctorally prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 17 years of experience spanning acute care, crisis response, psychiatric nursing, and public health. I offer integrative psychiatric care that blends evidence-based medicine with holistic, trauma-informed approaches. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults navigating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma, grief, life transitions, and healthcare-related burnout.
Our work together will feel collaborative, grounded, and deeply respectful of your story. You can expect a therapeutic relationship rooted in listening, presence, and curiosity—where your values and goals shape the course of treatment. I aim to create a safe space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal and thrive.
Outside of work, I love being active in nature, dancing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my friends, family, and my beloved dog.
I'm Beatrice Onifade, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and founder of Calm Horizons Behavioral Health. With over 5,000 hours of psychiatric practice, a background in intensive care nursing, and experience in leadership at a children's psychiatric hospital, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, compassion, and whole-person care to mental health treatment.
What makes me different? My experience extends beyond routine psychiatric appointments. Working in psychiatric hospital settings and previously as an ICU nurse has strengthened my ability to recognize complex symptoms, understand the connection between physical and mental health, and develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans. I don't believe in rushing appointments, treating patients as diagnoses, or prescribing medication without understanding the person behind the symptoms.
I specialize in psychiatric evaluations, ADHD treatment, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma-related conditions, and medication management. Whether you're struggling with racing thoughts, poor concentration, panic attacks, emotional exhaustion, mood changes, or medications that haven't worked as expected, I take time to listen, evaluate your concerns, and explore treatment options with you.
My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care, medication management, supportive psychotherapy, and practical coping strategies to improve your daily functioning and emotional well-being.
Through convenient telehealth appointments, I serve patients in multiple states, including Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Washington.
You deserve more than a prescription—you deserve to be heard, understood, and supported. Let's work together toward better mental health, renewed confidence, and lasting wellness.
I am a double board-certified Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience across the continuum of psychiatric care, including acute psychiatric emergencies, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, geriatric mental health, intellectual and developmental disability services, and healthcare management. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and am currently completing my Doctorate, reflecting my ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and families navigating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, from situational anxiety and depression to severe and persistent mental illness. My clinical experience includes extensive work with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related conditions, and mood instability across the lifespan. I am particularly experienced in caring for geriatric patients, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and patients with complex medication regimens requiring careful evaluation, simplification, and long-term stabilization.
I also work closely with college-aged patients and adults who are navigating academic pressure, career transitions, family dynamics, identity development, and the cumulative stressors that can emerge during periods of high responsibility or change. Many of my patients are high-functioning individuals who appear “put together” on the outside but struggle internally with anxiety, rumination, intrusive thoughts, emotional dysregulation, or burnout. Others are managing chronic psychiatric illness while striving to maintain independence, relationships, and quality of life.
In a world that too often depersonalizes healthcare, Dr. Sparks is committed to keeping the human and humane in healthcare. She is committed to individualized, relationship-based care despite the wider shift toward an impersonal, system-driven approach. You are unique. Your care should also be. Dr. Sparks is a doctorally prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner as well as a therapist. She has a wide toolkit and based on patient preference she may prescribe medications, supplements, and/or lifestyle interventions. Sessions may include brief therapeutic support as well.
Justin McPeak is a warm, approachable, and patient-focused psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 11 years of experience in the healthcare field. He holds board certifications in psychiatry, family medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care, which gives me a broad clinical perspective. While his career has spanned several specialties, he found his true passion in mental health. He is deeply motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people he serves.
I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a background that spans mental health, geriatrics, home health, intensive care, and long-term rehabilitation. My personality is open, honest, and direct—I believe transparency builds trust. With over a decade of hands-on nursing experience and recent advanced training in psychopharmacology and CBT, I bring both empathy and expertise to our work together. My clients can count on clear communication, collaborative care, and a deep commitment to helping them thrive.
