Hi there, I'm Juan Pablo.
I am a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist, committed to helping individuals achieve emotional well-being and inner harmony. With a deep passion for mental health, I have cultivated a wealth of experience in providing empathetic and evidence-based therapeutic support to my clients. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a a holistic approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit.
You might look like you're holding it all together on the outside while feeling exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed on the inside. Maybe you've spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you've stopped checking in with yourself. Or maybe life changed unexpectedly, and you're trying to figure out who you are now.
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
I work with children, teens, adults, couples, families, veterans, first responders, and LGBTQ+ individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship struggles, major life transitions, and the stress that comes from simply trying to keep up. My goal isn't to tell you how to live your life. It's to help you understand yourself more deeply, quiet the constant mental noise, and feel more confident in the choices you make.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I'm easy to talk to, calm, honest, and genuine. Therapy with me is a place where you don't have to have it all figured out. You can show up exactly as you are, and we'll take it one step at a time.
I work best with clients who are navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, and everyday stress. Many come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward. My ideal clients are looking for a supportive space to process what they are carrying, better understand themselves, and begin healing at a pace that feels right for them. I believe people heal best when they feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My approach to counseling is grounded in kindness, empathy, consistency, and genuine human connection.
For the past 20 years, I have worked in educational counseling and mental health support with children and adolescents ages 5–18. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside students and families through some of life’s most challenging and meaningful moments. For the last 14 years, I have also practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), helping clients build emotional resilience, confidence, and practical tools for everyday life.
My experience includes working extensively with anxiety, executive functioning challenges, academic stress, goal setting, grief, and trauma. I understand how overwhelming life can feel when emotions, responsibilities, or past experiences begin to weigh heavily. I also know that healing and growth are possible with support, patience, and the right therapeutic relationship.
Reaching out for support takes real courage, and I am glad you are here. I am a psychologist who works with people navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression. I believe you already hold the strengths and experiences to build a life that feels genuinely meaningful, and my role is to help you fi nd and use them. If that resonates, I would love to connect.
I have helped individuals sort through hectic times. If you need someone to talk to with and empathetic ear, then feel free to reach out. I am accepting new clients evening hours after 8:30pm cst for clients in Texas, New Jersey, Utah, and Iowa. I have an additional focus on Men's Issues related to Infidelity, sexual dysfunction, and sex/porn addiction. I provide a safe space to work through these issues.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I specialize in helping adults, women, veterans, BIPOC, and military families navigate the emotional weight of anxiety, trauma, and burnout. My approach is warm, direct, and deeply collaborative — I believe therapy should feel like a safe conversation with someone who truly gets it.
I use evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT); Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Therapies (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-ACT); and Relationship and Family Therapies (Family Systems Therapy). My desire is to help clients begin to heal at the root, not just manage symptoms. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns keeping you stuck and gently shift the beliefs that no longer serve you. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally free — not just in therapy, but in your everyday life.
I’m Derrick Martinez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping men, teen boys, and couples build stronger connections, confidence, and clarity in their lives. I know how difficult it can feel to carry the weight of expectations, whether it’s navigating identity, balancing relationships, or facing challenges with communication and intimacy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself and explore what matters most.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, where I specialized in integrated mental health and substance use. Over the past seven years, I’ve worked in schools, universities, community mental health agencies, and federally qualified health centers, supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in helping men and teen boys develop emotional insight, self-esteem, and purpose, and I work closely with couples to strengthen intimacy, improve communication, and rebuild trust. Currently, I am advancing my training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to deepen my work with relationships.
