Is life getting the best of you? Feeling stressed, overwhelmed & alone? Why try to figure life out on your own? I'm a CBT and Existential counselor (LGBTQ+ affirming) dedicated to helping you improve ways of managing life difficulties. Those difficulties may include major life changes, grief/loss, guilt/shame, financial stress, work stress, persistent worry or relationship issues. I have specialized training with Veterans and First Responders Responders. I have decades of experience working with families in addiction. My own life experience with trauma and substance abuse has shown me how hard change can be. Please let me help.
I want to hear what's going on in your life. I want to know what areas of life you want to change or improve. We can work together to get you to a place in life where YOU want to be!
I offer online video and telephone counseling, which allows you to stay safely in your home while we are meeting. I have a casual approach and consider each of us as part of a team, working for the same goal.
My philosophy for therapy is that it should be a “short term investment for life long benefits”. As a therapist, I am calm, patient, direct and honest.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My approach is Humanistic and Existential, grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for your unique story. While my credentials reflect my dedication to the field, my greatest strength is the genuine care and seasoned clinical experience I bring to each person I serve.
I am a Doctor of Psychology with an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), with more than 15 years of experience in mental health and education. My academic journey began at Virginia State University, a proud HBCU, where I earned a B.S. in Psychology with minors in English and Modern Dance. I later earned an M.A. in School Counseling, with a focus on Psychology and Marriage & Family Therapy, from Phillips Graduate Institute (now Phillips Graduate University).
My clinical and professional experience spans diverse settings and communities. I have worked in every jail in Los Angeles County and served for several years as a Consulting Psychologist at one of Philadelphia’s largest rehabilitation hospitals. As a native New Jerseyan who has spent much of my adult life in Los Angeles, my work as an educator and professor in multiple states, along with decades as a professional dancer and choreographer, has shaped a deeply nuanced understanding of creativity, self-expression, and the mind-body connection.
As a professor, I explore the psychological impact of media on women’s self-esteem, helping clients navigate comparison, societal expectations, and the pressures of modern life.
Therapy with me is collaborative. I will meet you where you are, listen deeply, and help you develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and a life that feels more authentic, purposeful, and your own.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been providing individual therapy for adults for over 10 years.
Whatever issues you're dealing with, you'll be treated with dignity and respect, and I'll work with you to develop a plan to move towards living the kind of life that you want.
Welcome to your new journey! With a solid foundation in Social Work, I completed my education at the University of Southern California with a Masters in Social Work. Over the years, I have cultivated a professional background rich in human development and theories based knowledge, allowing me to hone my skills in providing exceptional care.
My primary treatment areas include skills development for working through anxiety, depression, and relationship dynamics, while being dedicated to serving all genders, races, and cultures. Whether you're seeking support for navigating life events, or simply looking to enhance your well-being, I'm here to help guide you on your journey toward better health.
