There are moments where each of us experience difficult and stressful points in our lives. Whether it's a painful divorce, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, going through stress in a relationship, unresolved self-esteem issues, questions about gender or sexuality, dealing with a troubled child, family stress, or facing pain from childhood and/or adult trauma. Life can be hard at times; there is no doubt about that. I have come to view those challenging times that we all experience, albeit in different ways, as opportunities for us to make positive changes and adjustments - what I like to call "reset moments."
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help move my clients to lasting change. I have experience working in schools, hospitals, and in my own private practice. Through individual counseling, we move from places of stagnation and fear into the amazing future that each of us deserves and I believe we can have.
I am always amazed at the strength and courage of my clients. It's never easy to take that first step, to commit to the process of change, to put in the effort to do the hard work, and to hope for more. We must always remember that each of us has the power to be who we are intended to be and to create the lives we want. I look forward to working with you...
There are seasons of life when you realize you’ve changed, but you’re not entirely sure who you’ve become. Anxiety or depression may be affecting how you feel day to day, tension in your family or relationships may leave you emotionally drained, or you may have spent so much time meeting expectations that your own needs have become difficult to hear. I provide virtual and in person individual therapy for adolescents and adults throughout Texas, with a focus on anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship concerns, and women’s issues. I also support clients navigating trauma, PTSD, and stress when those experiences are contributing to the challenges they face today. My goal is to create a warm, affirming environment where you can step away from the pressure to have everything figured out, understand yourself more clearly, and begin reconnecting with the person you want to be.
Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP-accredited) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of Memphis.
Her path to counseling was shaped by a genuine passion for advocacy. Before and during her graduate studies, Amanda worked at Naval Support Activity Mid-South supporting military families, volunteered at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, and gained hands-on experience serving children and families across clinical and community settings. She has since built a career working with diverse populations — children, adolescents, and adults — and collaborates within multidisciplinary teams to ensure well-rounded, thoughtful care for every client.
Amanda's work is driven by one core belief: that with the right support, people have room to grow.
