Feeling comfortable in our shoes is essential to a creative and self-fulfilling journey and
life. The struggle to reach out for support can be an obstacle that leads to isolation,
loneliness, anxiety, and depression and is often the first and most challenging step to
take. I congratulate you on your courage and willingness to imagine and hope for
changes that will help you be more comfortable in the shoes that you wear!
I have worked as a mental health practitioner for over 40 years and have encountered
many of the challenges that people face in their daily lives. Along the way, I have
discovered my own creative needs and now walk as a transgender therapist willing to
join you as a partner on a path to self-discovery. Giving voice to our hopes, dreams,
and desires is often an essential part of that journey, and I would be glad to join you as
a partner in your self-discovery and growth.
I work with high-performing adults, including executives, physicians, medical students, therapists, attorneys, artists, musicians, and professionals in demanding careers. Many have built accomplished lives while quietly struggling with anxiety, complicated relationships, shame, or a persistent sense that they should be happier than they are.
A significant part of my work involves conversations people rarely feel free to have elsewhere. Infidelity, sexuality, desires they don't fully understand, resentment toward people they love, or questions about relationships and choices they've spent years defending. These experiences can be profoundly lonely, especially when shame, guilt, or fear of exposure makes honesty feel risky. I bring a sex-positive perspective and genuine curiosity to these conversations. I'm interested in understanding what people experience and the parts of themselves they've had to keep private.
I'm warm, direct, and genuinely curious about what makes people who they are. I'm interested in the parts of ourselves we work hardest to hide, even from the people closest to us. Many of my clients have become remarkably skilled at managing how they're perceived while feeling increasingly disconnected from their own wants and needs.
My work is about creating the conditions where that armor can soften. I want people to feel genuinely seen and begin experiencing more of the lives they've worked so hard to build. Some have spent years creating meaningful moments for everyone around them while standing at the margins of their own joy.
My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in TX, CO, and PA, and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in ME, as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in OH.
I started my social work journey at an in-patient adult hospital, then moved to intensive community based therapy with children before moving to to my work in private practice. Prior to that, I managed Waffle Houses all over Columbus and served in the US Air Force.
Hi, I’m Michael Aluvieve, a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) providing telehealth therapy for adults across Ohio. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges, and also work with stress, PTSD, and life transitions.
My approach is both professional and personal. After being accepted to Berklee College of Music, my own experience with mental health got in the way. Now I'm passionate about helping others that struggle with their mental health. Mental health issues aren't just a clinical notion to me, I am familiar with how burdensome and painful they can be.
Hi, I'm Sara! I believe that connection is key to feeling less alone in this world. Getting curious about our past experiences and core values can help us to create a life that feels authentic and aligned with who we want to be. I enjoy supporting clients who are navigating life transitions, specifically the perinatal and postpartum periods. Additionally, I have specialized training in substance use disorders and have a heart for working with loved ones of those impacted by addiction to help restore balance, trust, and healing to the family system.
I specialize in wellness approaches using vitamins and minerals and traditional Western medicine options. I'm goal-oriented and want clients who like to develop a relationship with their provider. I like to make appointments about your goals and desires. I will meet everyone on their path, and we will work toward whatever makes you feel comfortable. I offer flexible scheduling with day, evening, and weekend appointments. My clients report that they love the flexibility and their growth.
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating — especially if you’re afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or unsure whether therapy will actually help. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or like you’re barely holding things together on the outside, you’re not alone.
My approach is warm, direct, practical, and collaborative. I help clients not only process emotions, but also understand why certain patterns keep happening and how to create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, healthier coping skills, nervous system regulation, and stronger relationships.
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, attachment wounds, self-esteem issues, or difficulty managing intense emotions. I work to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, understood, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
If any of this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you in your healing process.
I have a holistic, creative approach to counseling, focusing not just on talk-therapy, but mind-body connection and our network of supports and relationships. I have worked in non-profit and community counseling centers and have experience with all ages of clients as well as multiple levels of abilities. My education background is not only in clinical mental health counseling but also peace and justice and art studies.
