Hello, I am a double graduate of NCA & T with a Bachelor of Social Work & Master in Counseling as first-generation college student. I have 20+ years’ experience in child welfare and family well-being. In which, I have a passion for helping others with emphasis on self-esteem, positive thinking, domestic violence, family dynamics & the impact of trauma & adverse childhood effects. I am a boy mom (human & fur baby) & for that reason, I love sports & enjoy cultivating males. & women empowerment!
I earned my Master of Social Work from UNC–Chapel Hill in 1999 and have more than 25 years of experience helping adults and families navigate emotional distress, relationship difficulties, and major life challenges. My background includes work as a psychotherapist and child welfare social worker.
I bring experience, steadiness, and genuine curiosity to my work. I am interested not only in what people are struggling with, but in how they came to experience themselves and their lives in the ways they do.
Through Headway, I provide insurance-based therapy to individual adults only. I do not see couples through insurance.
I believe therapy should be a place where you don’t have to have it all together. Many of my clients are high-achieving professionals who are used to being the “strong one” for everyone else, but privately struggle with relationships, boundaries, confidence, or life transitions. I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you can show up authentically, gain insight into patterns that no longer serve you, and build healthier relationships with yourself and others. I especially enjoy working with Black women and LGBTQ+ adults and strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive space where clients can show up fully as themselves.
