Life is hard. Sometimes you need a helping hand to overcome challenges and to live your best life. I believe you have the ability and power to heal yourself and to improve your situation. My goal is to help you have a life filled with joy and meaning, whatever that looks like to you. I work with children, youth and adults who are struggling with their identity, their relationships, their beliefs, their emotions, their past, their work life, their academics, their athletic performance, and their life goals. People I have helped include those with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, neurodiversity, and gender expression issues.
I’m a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and nationally certified counselor (NCC) with a master’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I provide trauma-informed therapy for children, teens, and adults experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and difficult life experiences. I use EMDR, CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed approaches to help clients process painful experiences, develop practical coping skills, and feel more confident and in control. My goal is to provide a judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
I am from Charlotte, NC where I was born and raised. To say that my childhood had it's challenges was an understatement. It was through overcoming those challenges that I discovered my heart for helping women heal. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011 having studied Psychology. I fell in love with the mountains and working with female survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This spurred me onward to complete my Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015. I have been a licensed therapist since 2016 and recently transitioned into private practice. I have a 3.5 year old son and we live happily in Weaverville, NC where we regularly hike, swim, and take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains that we are lucky to call home.
Katherine is a prenatal and perinatal psychologist passionate about babies, families, and success. She has worked as a care coordinator, doula, and mental health provider in the community and clinical settings.

I am a License Clinical Addiction Specialist, License Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and a Certified Trauma Therapist II. I received my Master’s in Counseling from Longwood University. I have been working with those suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders since 2011 in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
I'm a dog-obsessor, nerd for flowers, and avid audiobook listener. I've been working in therapeutic settings since 2011. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about how to help others as they struggle, succeed, and move into becoming the person they’ve always wanted to be. I've learned the power of warmth & empathy... and also how to be straight up when my clients need to hear the truth.
It’s also probably helpful for you to know that I can’t help but drop the “f-bomb” at least once a minute. Oops.
I hold two advanced degrees, Master of Social Work and Master of Science in Nursing Education. I integrate evidence-based modalities and techniques into my work based upon your needs. Some of the modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, and Somatic Experiencing. I was a holistic nurse for 15 years assisting clients with maximizing their physical, psychological, and/or spiritual health. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, complex trauma, and early childhood neglect or abuse. My clients are adults including those of diverse cultural, ethnic, and/or religious backgrounds.
I have been in private practice for 20 years with my specialty focusing on individuals resolving historic traumas and women balancing all of the complications of womanhood in a fast paced, demanding world. My style is informed from my diverse experience. I have worked in adolescent residential treatment, FBI consulting, an expert witness and a graduate school professorship; all the while working with my private practice clients. In the last several years, I have been sought out as a corporate consultant and speaker to discuss how our negative experiences and traumas shape our behaviors as high intensity professionals.
The untapped magnificence I see in my clients never ceases to inspire and amaze me. Anyone who is willing to do hard work is already a gift to this World! I've grown bored of many things in my life but this work....never!
