My name is Shannon Lomasney (she/her), and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I’m passionate about working with therapists and helping professionals who are deeply committed to their clients, their work, and their own growth—yet find themselves questioning whether the way they’re currently practicing, living, or showing up still feels sustainable and true to who they are. Many of my clients are thoughtful, compassionate, and highly self-aware, who have spent years investing in their personal and professional development. Oftentimes they find themselves navigating burnout, perfectionism, self-doubt, compassion fatigue, or uncertainty about what comes next. Whether you’re feeling disconnected from yourself, exploring a new direction in your career, or longing for a deeper sense of balance and fulfillment, I can offer a space to slow down, explore what’s beneath the surface, and reconnect with what matters most.
I have 19 years of experience as a fully licensed therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and 25 years of social work experience

Trained in treating ODD, CD, ADHD, PTSD, Anger, Anxiety/Panic Attacks, Bereavement, Complex Trauma, Depression, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, Stress, and Personality Disorders (particularly Antisocial and Borderline)
I use intervention techniques such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Trauma Focused included), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Crisis Intervention
I am an alumna of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
I earned my Master of Social Work from UNC–Chapel Hill in 1999 and have more than 25 years of experience helping adults and families navigate emotional distress, relationship difficulties, and major life challenges. My background includes work as a psychotherapist and child welfare social worker.
I bring experience, steadiness, and genuine curiosity to my work. I am interested not only in what people are struggling with, but in how they came to experience themselves and their lives in the ways they do.
Through Headway, I provide insurance-based therapy to individual adults only. I do not see couples through insurance.
Hello, want to work together on a path to Clarity in 2026? I provide ADHD Support in North Carolina through telehealth or in-person visits at our Pittsboro office in the Chatham Wellness Collective. (South of Chapel Hill)
A Streamlined Approach to ADHD Care. Navigating the ADHD assessment and treatment process can be frustrating and expensive. Many individuals face delays, expensive testing fees, and additional requirements, such as a psychological evaluation and/or a doctor’s note or EKG, just to receive care. Others are seen by telehealth only providers who can't prescribe stimulants and who tell you one has to start off on Wellbutrin or Strattera (non stimulants). That is terrible care. At our clinic, we prioritize efficiency and accessibility.
We believe in low doses of medication and finding your perfect dose to balance attention with mood. Most of our ADHD patients are on low dosing.
My approach to treatment is collaborative, forward-thinking, and tailored to your unique needs. I strive to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where you can feel comfortable discussing your challenges.
State Employees- Headway is part of a program that makes most visit have only a $10 copay.
Billing transparancy- Most new patient visits are billed a 99204 or 99205 and most follow-ups are 99214's. I do NOT bill therapy add on codes to new patient visits. Sometimes Headway will estimate your visit with a therapy code ad on and this makes it $300+. New visits are never more that $175. I sometimes bill add on therapy codes to follow ups (90833) IF its part of treatment plan. I won't surprise you. Please ask any provider you pick if they use add on codes- you deserve to know.
Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed with life, exhausted, anxious, or depressed? Have you experienced a stressful or traumatic life event? Perhaps you struggle with a chronic illness. Maybe you struggle with a difficult child or teen. Or maybe your partner has been unfaithful. Are you tired of feeling isolated and hopeless? You want- no, you need- things to change, but you don’t where to begin. Asking for help can be one of the most difficulty things to do, but I would be honored to help you discover your inner strength and begin your journey to healing and being who you are meant to be.
I have received training in Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for managing bipolar disorders as well as certification as a clinical trauma professional. A nationally certified counselor, I am also a member of LPC Association of NC and the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP).
I am passionate about helping people triumph over trauma, learn mindfulness-based practices to reduce stress and manage anxiety, improve self-esteem, understand the relationship among our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors (CBT) and learn to tolerate distress in their lives.
You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” — Marcus Aurelius. Many men resonate with this wisdom from Stoic philosophy. Life brings disruption, trauma, career shifts, and family transitions that can leave you feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure of who you are. I specialize in helping men reclaim identity and purpose after disruption. Whether you’re struggling with stress, relationship strain, or questions of meaning, counseling offers a space to face these challenges directly while discovering resilience you may not yet see in yourself.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and work with adults who want a supportive, reflective space to better understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges. I support clients experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, burnout, parenting challenges, and major life transitions.
I also bring extensive experience working with children and teens which provides a valuable perspective in my work with adults who are parents. I enjoy working with parents who want to better understand their children, strengthen connection and feel more confident navigating the often complicated demands of parenting.
I offer teletherapy to adults located in North Carolina.
