I’m a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, and other emotional concerns. Being a therapist is actually my second career, which gives me a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for how our families, life experiences, and the environments we live in shape who we are. I believe that understanding your story is an important part of healing, and I strive to create a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual therapy with a focus on chronic illness (such as celiac, IBD, etc). I also specialize in supporting clients navigating endometriosis, PCOS, POTS, chronic fatigue, fertility challenges, and hormonal mood disorders. With research experience in PMDD and personal experience advocating for women’s health, I offer a validating, collaborative space for those facing chronic symptoms and medical dismissal. While I no longer practice couple's therapy, I’m passionate about helping my clients feel understood, empowered, and supported on their healing journey.
Recognizing that sometimes life's stressors are too much for an individual to deal with on your own can be difficult, however it displays a foundation of strength and determination. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I strive for my practice to be a safe, nonjudgmental space for all who seek support and are endeavoring to improve on their self compassion. You are the expert in your own experience, however if we work together I hope to provide a stable, secure energy to our sessions.
As a licensed mental health counselor specializing in holistic therapy, I provide integrated support for adults ready to manifest lasting, fulfilling change. I am a Double Board-Certified nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric mental health and family health. As a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner, I use an integrative and holistic approach to mental health. As a family nurse practitioner, I take into consideration how physical health impacts mood and relationships. I employ evidence-based medication management. Together, we can pinpoint what's causing you stress and navigate towards a balanced state. I employ brief supportive psychotherapy in every session to help patients manage their emotions, particularly those dealing with chronic illnesses or experiencing high levels of stress. By offering empathy and validation, I aim to strengthen coping mechanisms, boost resilience, and enhance overall mental well-being.
I'm ready to help you get started on your journey!
I received my masters in social work from Adelphi University. I worked as a social work director for a number of years previously but I stopped because I really preferred more face to face time with my patients. I got so much more from my time counseling than being in a management position. Over my 22 years as a social worker, I've come across many people with diverse issues and truly have enjoyed all of my experiences as they helped form the person I am, the therapist I am. Much of my experience is working with anxiety, depression, bereavement, couples counseling, life transitions, stress management, cancer and chronic illness counseling, palliative care counseling, caregiver support and community resource and referral.
People always tell me that I'm a good listener. This is my greatest accomplishment and one I'm most proud of because as your therapist I want to HEAR you. I want to join you in your pain or difficulties and help you find your way through them. I may not have experienced what you have specifically gone through or are facing now, but I know how to find my way in to how you are feeling. Building a therapeutic rapport with you will be my first step. Trust needs to build and then most of my work is generally solution focused and cognitive-behavioral techniques. You will see that I am a caring, non-judgmental person. I would love the chance to help see you through your challenges. You've taken the first step!
