Therapy should feel real, honest, and worth your time. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum struggles, first responder life, and all the messy in-betweens. As a trained EMDR therapist (and a mom of two and a fire wife who knows this world personally), I offer direct but compassionate support. You’ll get practical tools, honest feedback, and space to do the hard work, not just vent and leave. If you're ready to finally break old patterns, I’m here to help you get unstuck.
Life is not a destination, but a journey with peaks and valleys. Your mental health state ebbs and flows with how you navigate those peaks and valleys, which can sometimes prove to be extremely difficult. Bright Journey Counseling LLC provides empathetic, yet focused coping strategies to offer hope, positive thinking and realization that change is possible.
I bring over a decade of clinical experience providing psychotherapy to children, teens and adults in various clinical settings.
As a mental health professional, I believe in the importance of personal connection with my clients. I hold a Master's degree from Walden University and studied medicine in Cuba, giving me a solid understanding of both the body and mind.
I have experience working in outpatient clinics and private practice, focusing on anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma across diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
Having personally faced anxiety and depression, I approach my clients with empathy and compassion, understanding their struggles firsthand. My goal is to create a safe environment where we can work together towards healing and resilience.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey to better mental health.
I work with men who are in a “next chapter” season, high school and college students stepping into adulthood, and high-performing professionals and entrepreneurs who carry a lot and rarely have a real place to put it down. A lot of the guys I support feel stuck in confusion, relationship stress, fatherhood pressure, or the weight of past experiences that still show up in the present. My style is warm, direct, and easy to talk to, but I’m also honest and strategic. I help you get clear on what’s driving you and what’s blocking you. My background includes a B.S. in Sociology from Florida A&M University, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University with psychotherapy training, clinical training in a men’s resource setting, and service as an Army chaplain assistant.
Looking for relationship help? To relieve the pain or find better ways to manage? The "secrets" of dealing skillfully with difficulties, differences and hurts, are not really secrets: you CAN learn these and many more relationship skills if you are curious, motivated and persistent. I'd like to help you: a) address and relieve your most pressing problems, b) set clear, realistic goals, and c) learn to avoid a tremendous amount of headache and heartache in the future.
