Most people come for therapy with curiosity and skepticism. My goal is to gain your trust so that you will benefit a great deal from our work together to feel better and whole. I specialize in Trauma Informed Therapy, PTSD, Relationship Issues and Parenting. I offer on line sessions at a mutually convenient time. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults on a variety of issues.
Hi, I’m Dr. Linda Wickens, a doctoral-level therapist and coach who works with individuals navigating stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and patterns that keep them feeling stuck while preventing forward movement and growth. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or frustrated that change feels harder than it should.
Therapy and coaching with me are never one-size-fits-all. We work collaboratively to create a plan that is specific to you, your goals, and your capacity, adjusting pace and structure as your needs evolve. I focus on helping clients understand their patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical skills they can actually use in daily life.
I hold a Doctorate in Social Work and am a fully licensed clinical social worker, with over nine years of experience in the mental health field. My work integrates evidence-based therapy with a coaching-informed lens when appropriate, allowing sessions to be both supportive and goal-oriented while still making space to explore the past and its impact on the present.
Clients often describe my style as warm, direct, and collaborative. As part of my concierge model, clients work directly with me rather than an assistant, and I remain accessible to my clients outside of sessions through secure communication when needed. I believe growth happens through understanding, compassion, and honest conversation, and that progress is most sustainable when care feels personal, intentional, and consistent.
Please Note: I do not provide couples or marriage counseling. I do not treat adolescents under the age of 21. Additionally, I am not able to treat clients who are experiencing active suicidal ideation or self-harm behaviors. If these services are needed, I encourage seeking a provider who specializes in these areas or contacting appropriate crisis resources if immediate support is required.
I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed by work stress, family dynamics, relationship strain, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together. Many of my clients are trying to manage anxiety, set better boundaries, make time for themselves, and figure out how to move through life changes without feeling constantly drained. Some are navigating divorce, complicated parental relationships, family chaos, caregiving stress, or the emotional impact of raising a child with disabilities or health challenges. Others are trying to build confidence in the workplace, navigate tokenism and racial identity in the workplace, and find steadier footing in friendships, relationships, and everyday life.
Helping clients discovering the emotions and mood that cause barriers towards growth. Learning to explore with a journey through life experiences and challenges. As a counseling psychology doctorate, with a LPC, as SA counselor since 2016, as an LPC 2017, I practice utilizing CBT, adult play therapy, couples, family, DBT, EMDR, and other therapeutic interventions. Additionally I have experience with working in substance abuse and alcohol use as a CMAC,MAC,CCS. I am a CPCS supervisor. And work with 21 and above dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss.
Welcome, and thank you for considering me as a partner in your wellness journey! My therapeutic style is warm, gentle, and supportive, while also being direct and accountability focused. I believe meaningful change happens when compassion and honesty work together. In our time together, we will explore what’s getting in the way of your well-being and identify practical, sustainable ways to improve your daily functioning and overall quality of life.
With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I bring a grounded, steady presence to the therapeutic space. I support clients through life transitions, emotional challenges, and periods of feeling stuck, always meeting you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.
