Hello there!
My name is Marisa and I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 6 years of experience providing mental health services to individuals from widely diverse backgrounds, with varying symptoms and diagnoses. Throughout the past couple of years, I have been predominately working with women (adults and teens) who experience anxiety, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, and interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges. While many of the clients I support have experienced trauma, particularly in some form of abuse, I am equipped to work with clients with a wide range of additional concerns, as well.
I began working in the field of Mental Health in 2004, serving the female population. After three years, I decided to make this a career choice and studied at Springfield College to earn a master’s degree as a Mental Health Counselor. The first paid position I accepted was offered by a non-profit in Brandon, FL, where I served as a Group Facilitator and Counselor to adult and adolescent populations. In this position, I discovered my passion for counseling and helping others grow.
Stephany Rivera (she/her/ella) is a Florida-based Latinx, English, and Spanish speaking Social Worker. She is a proud first-generation Colombian-American and college graduate who has experienced the marginalization of coming from an immigrant family. These experiences have informed her passion of providing each client with a supportive space to overcome the stigmas of mental health in BIPOC communities. Stephany is an LGBTQ+ ally who devotes herself to anti-racism in her therapy and daily life.
I work with women, parents, and families who are feeling overwhelmed—whether it’s parenting stress, relationship challenges, or struggles with substance use. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck or carrying more than they can manage alone. Therapy with me is a space where you can feel safe, seen, and heard as we build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and help you reconnect with your clarity and confidence. Clients describe me as supportive, honest, and easy to talk to.
