Welcome! I’m a board-certified psychiatrist and a multi-platform Patient-Choice Award recipient. If you’re looking for a smaller practice to help with medication management +/- talk therapy, I may be the right fit for you.
Choosing the right provider is a big step, and I'm here to offer a unique blend of expertise and genuine support. I'm a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), and a Certified Advanced Practice Addictions Nurse. What does this mean for you? It means I can offer truly integrated care, understanding how your physical and mental health are connected, and providing specialized support for addiction.
I believe quality mental health care starts with feeling heard and respected. I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach and work to understand the whole person, not just symptoms. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space while offering thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care tailored to each individual’s needs.
Hi, I’m Hannah, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in critical care, trauma, and outpatient mental health. I’ve spent more than a decade working with individuals across the lifespan—from complex medical settings to telepsychiatry—helping people navigate mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, and the stressors that come with major life transitions.
My clinical approach blends evidence-based medication management with supportive, collaborative care. I believe treatment works best when we tailor it to your unique goals, experiences, and strengths. Many of my clients are young parents, students, or adults balancing work, relationships, and emotional challenges, and I strive to create a space where you feel understood, empowered, and supported.
With over 12 years of experience in nursing and behavioral health, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adolescents, and adults ages 12 and older. My clinical interests include anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, stress-related concerns, and mood disorders.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Psychiatrist in Oak Park, IL
Finding psychiatrists in Oak Park starts with understanding the type of mental health care you want. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Therapists provide talk therapy and may work with you on coping skills, patterns, relationships, and daily support. If you are looking for care related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, either option may fit depending on your needs. Review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, background, and approach to see whether their training matches what you want help with.
Oak Park has a smaller local market than nearby Chicago, so virtual psychiatry can expand your options while keeping care accessible from home. Psychiatric care often follows a different schedule than therapy. Medication management appointments are usually shorter and less frequent than talk therapy sessions, and some psychiatrists also offer therapy. Some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. As you compare profiles, look for appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Bios can also show how a psychiatrist describes their communication style and what to expect in a first visit.
Psychiatric care in Oak Park can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before you book. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists who match your preferences, verify your insurance, and see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront. Every psychiatrist listed is accepting new patients, and many accept insurance, so you can review profiles, compare availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
