Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Stone Mountain
Finding the right psychiatrist in Stone Mountain starts with understanding what kind of care you need. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and monitor how those medications are working over time. Psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) provide similar services, including prescribing and managing medication. If you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or PTSD, either type of provider may be a good fit. On Headway, you can review detailed provider bios to learn about their specialties, approach, and availability before booking.
With many providers practicing across Stone Mountain and nearby communities like Decatur, Lithonia, and Snellville, narrowing your options can take time. Consider what matters most — whether that's a provider who specializes in a specific condition, someone who offers virtual visits, or a provider whose schedule fits yours. A free phone consultation can also help you decide if a provider is the right match before you commit to a session.
Psychiatry sessions can be expensive without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and your out-of-pocket expense may be as low as $0 per session, though costs vary based on your location and exact insurance coverage. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a psychiatrist who is both the right clinical fit and covered by your plan.
