I graduated from The Ohio State University with my DNP in 2020 focusing on efficient pathways to implement depression screening post-stroke to identify mental health needs. After working a couple years as a nurse practitioner within neurosurgery, I transitioned from Ohio to Florida and pursued my PMHNP certification from Florida State University. Over the past 5 years I have been treating psychiatric needs in LTC around Florida. I am currently working to expand into independent practice and work personally with individuals creating a therapeutic relationship and enhancing their mental health.
I specialize in mood disorders (including depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety (generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety), and trauma-related conditions including PTSD. I am deeply committed to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health — and I understand firsthand how shame and silence can stand in the way of healing and daily functioning. Outside of work, I'm a parent who enjoys going to the pool and playing board games with my children, which keeps me grounded in the everyday joys that matter most.

Hi, I’m Iris, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, mood changes, attention difficulties, or stress that’s making daily life harder than it should be.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on the whole person. I believe mental health care should go beyond simply treating symptoms. Together, we’ll explore the factors that may be affecting how you feel—from life stressors and sleep to hormonal changes and metabolic health—and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
In addition to psychiatric medication management, I also incorporate hormone-informed mental health care and medical weight management, recognizing how closely emotional well-being, hormones, and physical health are connected.
My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered with a clear path forward.
You don’t have to navigate this alone—support is here when you’re ready.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Lithia
Finding psychiatrists in Lithia starts with understanding the type of care they provide. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication as part of care. Therapists focus on talk therapy and other forms of support, and both can be valid entry points depending on what you need. If you are looking for care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or OCD, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and approach to see who may match your needs.
Lithia is a smaller community, so local psychiatry options may be more limited than in larger nearby areas. Virtual appointments can expand your search while keeping care accessible from home, and some people also consider in-person options in nearby communities like Valrico, Brandon, and Plant City. Psychiatric medication management visits are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions. Some psychiatrists also offer therapy, and some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. Before booking, read psychiatrist bios to understand appointment style, focus areas, availability, and whether a free phone consultation is offered.
Psychiatric care in Lithia can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before your first appointment. Headway helps you find psychiatrists and other prescribing clinicians who are accepting new patients and match your plan. You can enter your insurance details, review estimated costs, compare bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
