I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in social work and therapy, and that experience has shaped how I think about mental health care. I’ve learned that what someone is experiencing is rarely just one thing. Our relationships, environment, past experiences, biology, and daily stressors can all play a role. I became a PMHNP-BC because I wanted to bring medication management into the same thoughtful, whole-person care I had been providing throughout my career.
Finding the right psychiatric provider is about more than credentials. You want someone who will listen, take your concerns seriously, and help you understand what is going on without making you feel rushed or judged.
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, sleep concerns, stress, and life transitions. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish.
My approach is simple: I want to understand your story, not just your symptoms. I take time to explain your options, answer your questions, and include you in decisions about your care. One of the compliments I value most is, “You actually listened.” That is the kind of experience I want every patient and family to have.
I primarily treat patients experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as conditions such as OCD, ADHD, and mood disorders. My approach is holistic, addressing the physiological, cognitive, and emotional aspects of mental health to support overall well-being.
As a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Central Florida, I am committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. I believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and soul—and meeting each individual where they are in their journey.
Seeking support is a sign of strength—something we all need at times. Simply putting words to what you’ve been carrying can feel like a weight lifted. With an objective, supportive partner, you can gain clarity about where you are and where you want to go. When you’re ready, you’re welcome to reach out or schedule an appointment.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Fort Pierce
Finding the right psychiatrist in Fort Pierce starts with understanding the kind of care you want. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication as part of care. Therapists provide talk therapy and may work with you on concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or obsessive-compulsive disorder. Some people start with a therapist, some start with a prescriber, and some work with both.
In a smaller city like Fort Pierce, local psychiatry appointments may have fewer in-person options, so virtual care can help widen your search across Florida. Medication management appointments are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, while some psychiatrists also offer therapy. As you compare options, look at appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and whether their listed specialties match what you need. Provider bios can also show how they communicate, what kinds of concerns they support, and what to expect in a first visit.
Psychiatric care in Fort Pierce can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before you book. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners who take your insurance, see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
