My name is Rachel , and I am a Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker (LCMSW). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. I have worked as an outpatient therapist, behavioral health consultant, and life skills coach. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, autism, self-esteem, family and couples therapy, and particularly mental health support during pregnancy and postpartum.
I am a calm, welcoming social worker that strives to create a space for all of my clients to find their true selves and create a life that works best for them
I graduated with my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Akron in 2011 specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and interpersonal relationships. Since that time I have worked in a variety of fields including community mental health services, foster care and adoption and in the schools. I am currently in my 5th year as a School Social Worker, where I service students Kindergarten through 12th grade. Starr Commonwealth Children of Trauma and Resilience Certification, a TRAILs School Partner that supports students with anxiety and depression, and IRRP Certified in Restorative Practices. I am experienced in Individual Education Plans, 504s as well as School Positive Behavior Intervention Plans to best support students with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and a variety of medical and behavioral needs.
A former client called me "endlessly chill." I am known to wear more sweatshirts than more "professional" attire. I don't want to give off any energy that I am better than anyone who sits across from me. I am known to swear in sessions (but I do filter this per client).
I provide treatment for high functioning anxiety, stress, worry, overthinking, perfectionism, self-criticism, overwhelm, procrastination, imposter syndrome, low self-worth, burn-out, ADHD and relationship stress. I understand that life's challenges can sometimes become overwhelming, and seeking support is a courageous step toward achieving balance and well-being. I am here to support you with your personal growth and emotional healing. Julie looks forward to helping you discover your inner resilience and empower you for positive change.
For me, I aim to help others transform their lives through compassionate, personalized care (with plenty of humor along the way). I specialize in working with people of color, student-athletes, and those who are neurodivergent. If you’re neurodivergent and reading this, you’ve finally found someone who specializes in and deeply understands your unique perspective. Whether seeking clarity on behaviors, understanding how you interpret the world, or navigating challenges, I am here to help.
Emotional exhaustion can look like functioning.
You may be the person others depend on while quietly feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. At Milton’s Place Counseling, therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, process what you are carrying, and identify practical next steps. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and major life transitions. You do not have to wait until you are in crisis to seek support.
If anxiety, depression, grief, or ongoing stress are making daily life feel harder, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with adolescents, adults, and families who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Many parents seek support when they notice changes in their teen’s mood, behavior, school functioning, or communication, while adults often come to therapy feeling exhausted, disconnected, or weighed down by life transitions and relationship stress.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in creating a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. I look forward to working with you on your journey.
