Great to meet you!
Hello, I’m Channa Rochester, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental and emotional well-being. With over a decade of experience in healthcare and mental health settings, I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood changes, or life stressors. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward better mental health.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked for many years as a psychiatric mental health nurse, where I gained extensive experience supporting individuals in inpatient, outpatient, crisis, and community mental health settings. These experiences helped shape my compassionate and patient-centered approach to care and strengthened my commitment to helping individuals improve their mental wellness
Relationships and early life experiences can have a lasting impact on how we see ourselves and connect with others. I work with adults and seniors navigating relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, and family challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they don't fully understand, struggling with painful experiences, or finding that old wounds continue to affect their present lives. Whether you're navigating relationship difficulties, processing trauma, or trying to better understand yourself and your experiences, therapy can provide a space for healing and meaningful change. My goal is to help you make sense of your story, strengthen your connections, and move toward a greater sense of peace and understanding.

Welcome! My goal is to partner with families to help clients live happy, healthy lives. Whether you've experienced side effects from medication or haven't seen the progress you hoped for, I'm here to work with you toward a solution.
Finding the right medication is only part of the picture — truly understanding what's happening in your life matters just as much. That's why I incorporate brief, solution-focused therapy into every visit and make a point of staying in close communication with your other providers.
As a child and adolescent psychiatrist, I have extensive training and experience treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and a range of other behavioral health challenges. I also enjoy working with young adults in their twenties who are navigating the unique transitions and challenges that come with that stage of life.
I have a special interest in women's health — particularly during the perinatal period and menopause — as well as the unique needs of healthcare workers.
I want therapy to feel like a space where you’re truly heard, understood, and not judged. Together, we’ll create a supportive, honest relationship where you can show up as your real self and work toward the changes that matter most to you. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, stress, personality disorders, substance use, and co‐occurring concerns, and I draw on my crisis work background to support you through really tough moments. I also love helping you understand how your brain, emotions, and behaviors work so you can make changes that last beyond our sessions.

Later, I completed a Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have completed all of the core courses for a PhD in Counseling and Psychological Studies, only the dissertation remains. I'm nationally board certified.
