My work experience includes working for several years as an outpatient psychotherapist in a well-known and established community mental health organization. I’m Matt Larock and I’m a licensed clinical therapist and a licensed clinical addiction counselor in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I help my clients navigate the challenges that have had them stuck for just a few months or stuck for over a few decades.
I work with men, women, teens, young adults and parents who want to stop white knuckling their way through life’s difficulties and get the tools to make changes that stick for the long haul.
I help men and women of all ages who have challenges with substance abuse, I help parents of struggling teens and young adults who are navigating how to help their child eventually become a thriving adult. I help young adults heal their past, take responsibility for their future and move forward in a healthy way. And I help all kinds of clients of all ages heal anxiety, trauma, stress and other difficulties.
It’s exhausting to keep trying the old way on the same issues. It’s exhausting to keep spinning your wheels. It’s exhausting to be mired in anxiety and it’s exhausting to let trauma go untreated for years and years.
It is my purpose to guide others toward their innate capacity for growth and wholeness.
I work well with individuals ready to go deeper into understanding their own inner wold, healing from past experiences, and developing greater compassion for oneself and others.
My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that empowerment, inclusivity, and meaningful connection can heal people. I often explore the question: What do you want from life that you aren't getting? You might want the ability to find peace in a hectic world, or to look inward, think, and reflect. You might crave more meaning and purpose in your daily life, a desire to be in relation to others, or the courage to grow into your true self.
