Hello, I am excited to meet you and start the wild adventure that therapy can be. I have experience working with people of many ages from shy teenagers, to spicy adults in their 70s. I have worked with individuals, as well as couples and families. The majority of my experience was learned at a trauma recovery center. I gained skills for addressing PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, as well as exploring concepts of self, identifying other forms of trauma such as religious trauma, shame, and recognizing ways for experiencing empowerment. As a bi-sexual therapist who has lived overseas, was raised in a conservative religious house hold, I believe that I have a unique way of sitting with people in the complexities of cultural differences, trauma, faith, spirituality and sexuality.
I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes mental health care should feel human—not rushed or impersonal.
I provide a non-judgmental space where you can speak openly and feel understood. My approach integrates thoughtful medication management with psychotherapy when appropriate, always tailored to your individual needs.
Diagnosis can be an important part of understanding your experience, but it’s only one piece of the picture. I look at your mental, physical, and emotional well-being, as well as the life experiences that shape what you’re going through.
I offer collaborative, grounded care to help you move toward a more balanced, integrative, and holistic sense of well-being.

Hi, I'm Mitch — a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University. San Diego has been home since 2020, when the Navy first brought me here.
My background includes pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, inpatient psychiatry in Nashville and San Diego, crisis stabilization, and outpatient mental health care. I’ve worked with veterans, college students, LGBTQ+ individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and patients navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, substance use, and severe mental illness.
I primarily provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management while integrating supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies into visits. My approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in helping people improve day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
I look forward to getting to know you.
I've been in private practice for 12 years and work with young adults aged18 - 30. I’ve always been interested in the way our experiences, relationships, beliefs, and thought patterns shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. This interest led me to begin my career by working with an anti-human trafficking organization providing resources and aftercare services for rescued and recovered teen girls. I’ve also worked for local school districts as a high school special education crisis counselor and in-class behavior interventionist.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying active, and continuing to learn about health and whole-person wellness.
I have completed a MA in Counseling Psychology. I have worked with diverse populations covering many issues. My approach is client focused through active listening skills and empathic support.
