Hi:
I would like to welcome you into my therapy office via zoom. Wherever you live in California, we have an opportunity to get to know each other and hopefully start a journey that can enhance your life. I have been helping clients overcome situational stress as well as underlying stress for over 30 years.
My goal as a psychologist is to help you have tools so that you can live a more fulfilling life. We are all a work in progress. I want you to know I too have worked to overcome stress in my own life. I hope we can begin the journey together.
I am a licensed psychologist with a wide background that includes working with anxiety, depression, family issues, career development, a well as issues related to grief, divorce and other topics that impact our lives.
I have written two books: "Fried, Frenzied, Frazzled..." and "Four Principles for Success." Let's start our journey.
I was a victim of trauma, which caused me to seek healing through therapy and by the grace of God. I became a therapist as I have experience walking out of the pain and suffering and embracing healing as a victor over the bondage of complex trauma. Additionally, I am an immigrant and first generation, Asian American Filipino, who has first hand experience with migration, navigating complex structural corporate systems as I was previously working in law, and in vet medicine. Now my goal in life is to run back into the darkness to help walk and guide you into the light.
Hi, I’m Eliza Rivera-Mitu, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, as well as the psychiatric challenges in autism. With a background in both psychiatry and family medicine, I take a holistic approach that considers the whole person—not just the diagnosis. I'm passionate about helping you feel heard, empowered, and supported in your mental health journey.
I have a masters degree in psychology with a background in development throughout the lifetime. I have worked with school age, teens, and families through a school based setting. This has given me the value of supporting growth in regards to gender, sexuality, and trauma.
I have 15+ years of experience working with individuals and couples who have experienced trauma, both directly and indirectly. My specialty is those going through a loss, suffered emotional trauma, or are victims of violence. Unaddressed individual trauma can often lead to anxiety, depression and difficulties in developing / maintaining loving relationships. Couples can struggle with unhealthy patterns of communication and need alternative tools to better understand each other. With a warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach I support clients facing issues such as anxiety, grief, life changes and relationship challenges.
I'm Virginia Rubio, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent more than a decade as a registered nurse in settings that shaped how I practice today. I worked telemetry and medical-surgical units at a community hospital, cared for patients at a state psychiatric hospital, and provided care in correctional and juvenile health settings. Those environments put me alongside people at some of the hardest points in their lives, often people who had been dismissed or overlooked elsewhere. That's where I learned that being genuinely listened to is itself part of treatment.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, and sleep difficulties. I have a particular interest in women's mental health — perinatal concerns, hormonal and life transitions, and the specific pressures women often carry without naming them. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish, and I see patients throughout California by secure video.
Outside of work, I recharge with my family, time outdoors and on my feet, and a mindfulness practice I've kept up for years. Those things aren't separate from how I practice; they're a large part of why I believe daily habits and emotional health can't be pulled apart.
Seeking help can be the first step to acquire greater understanding and insight into our lives and relationships.
